Paul Townend about to get filled in by Robbie Power Cheesy

I think he might have to wait his turn in the queue behind Willie Mullins.

I thought he got distracted by the red flag on the pole by the wing of the fence thinking it was a diversion arrow - until I noticed that there was one by the penultimate fence too..

The Stopwatch Racing guy retweeted this, which was posted by Damian Finan (Starsgroup)

He said it looked to be the most reasonable explanation he'd seen

In the split second that Paul Townend glanced back The Storyteller and Finians Oscar we’re both veering to the right, and I think Townend thought they were bypassing the fence and went to follow! Have a look at it again!

What a great win by a champion that was, absolutely ran them ragged there.

Great to see him do that, and hopefully see him back at Chelts in the stayers next March.

yes fingers crossed he stays sound. Would bring the house down if he wins the Stayers

I was being sneaky and went to get a ton on @ 16/1 earlier in the week. Purely as I knew I'd be able to lay it off for a nice freeroll on the day.

Shame I could only have pennies, so ended up just forgetting about it Cheesy

He's very lightly raced for a 10yo, so no reason he won't be kept in training, or that he can't do the same.

It was a heartwarming run - I could hardly have been happier if I'd have backed him - well maybe a little.

Wetherby 4:20
Genetics

Perhaps a chunk of value has already gone, but with some 7/2 still available, this still looks a reasonable bet. The favourite is Varian's Fujaira Prince which ran a decent Grade 5 race at Windsor on g/s nearly 5 months ago, but the form doesn't look good enough for Even money.

Andrew Balding hasn't taken many to Wetherby before, but today he's got 3 there, all ridden by a claimer whose 5lbs will help. Genetics showed great promise over 10f & was tried unsuccessfully at a Newbury Grade 2, on ground too soft, and over an inadequate 8f at Lingfield back in Grade 4. Connections have finally concluded that he needs a left-handed track with less undulation and the full 10f. I had a look at the price last night and it was 5/1, but I only made up my mind that it was a bet this morning & took the 4/1 available. With the ground drying further working in his favour, you might want to follow me in.

I'll see if I can pay for my Kevin Hart tickets with it.

Just seen on twitter...

This bookmaking game must be a licence to print money, no 7 on the rails at Royal Ascot has just sold for £191,500. 😲🤔🎩
