at DTD the other day playing the mini when we had a few cases of the following happen:

100-200 blinds

raise call, see a flop

raiser bets say 1200

other player raises to 2000 and gets told he must make it 2400 as that is double the bet

Now this got me thinking ( and possibly showing my lack of knowledge)

if the blinds are 100-200, then surely the initial players bet was the BB + 1000 = 1200, therefore the chap making the raise to 2000 should have made it 2200 (BB + 1000x2), not up to 2400

am i right or talking poop?Huh?

10.Raise Requirements- If a player puts in a raise of 50% or more of the previous bet but less than the minimum raise, he or she will be required to make a full raise. The raise will be exactly the minimum raise allowed. In no-limit and pot limit an all-in bet of less than a full raise does not reopen the betting to a player who has already acted.

26.Raises- There is no cap on the number of raises in no-limit games. A raise must be at least the size of the previous raise. In limit events there will be a limit to raises even when heads-up until the tournament is down to two players; the house limit will apply.

After the flop the blinds only dictate what the minimum bet can be when betting first. After the first bet the raise just has to be at least double the previous range amount added into the previous raise Smiley not so simple to type!

Glad to see you've got your answer.

I've nothing constructive to add, so I'll just agree with Nirvana
