GENTING POKER SERIES II ANNOUNCES DUSK TILL DAWN LEG

13 October 2013, Nottingham:

GENTING POKER IS DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE the addition of a new land based location to the current popular Genting Poker Series (Series II), at Europe’s premier poker room, Dusk Till Dawn, in January 2014.

Dusk Till Dawn's online poker product is provided under license from Genting Poker in a three-year deal that was agreed between the two companies in March 2013.

Since the agreement the two parties have been working closely together to drive forward poker in the UK and today’s announcement and inclusion of a land based leg at Dusk Till Dawn within the GPS II schedule is the natural progression and replaces the online leg originally penciled in for this November.

Dusk Till Dawn is a popular Midlands venue based in Nottingham and the clubs 50 table capacity allows them to generate large fields and record breaking prize pools. As a GPS leg, the DTD event will carry Genting’s £100,000 tournament guarantee and a full live and online satellite schedule across Dusk Till Dawn and Genting will be announced very shortly. The dates for the new leg are:

8th Jan Wednesday Online Day 1A
9th Jan Thursday Live Day 1B
10th Jan Friday Live Day 1C
11th Jan Saturday Day 2
12th Jan Sunday Day 3

The Genting Poker Series generated more than £1.3million in prize funds in its inaugural season and the addition of the leg at Dusk Till Dawn looks set to drive Series II past that figure again.

Kevin Proctor, Poker Manager at Genting UK is excited about the continued success of The Series; “We are delighted that Dusk till Dawn will be hosting a leg of the Genting Poker Series. The event continues to go from strength to strength, players love the deep stack format. 60 minute levels and a starting stack of 25,000 chips mean every player enjoys plenty of action, no matter what the standard of their game.
With such big money available in the main event it is no surprise that the side games are pretty strong too and we make sure that the duration of each leg has games of every value to suit every type of player. What makes the GPS special is the mix of recreational players and professionals it attracts and online qualifiers have a good record of scalping the big names in the GPS.”

DTD Owner, Rob Yong believes bringing the GPS to Dusk Till Dawn could be one of their biggest events yet, "The GPS series is all about grass roots poker, with many opportunities for the man in the street to qualify and win life changing money, so I am very happy to be hosting a leg at DTD. I hope this is just the start of more collaborative projects between Genting and DTD as we both channel our energy in to promoting poker in the UK and attracting more new players into this wonderful game."

Qualification satellites will be running regularly throughout Genting Casinos across the country and Dusk Till Dawn, with online satellites available at gentingpoker.com, dusktilldawnpoker.com.

The streaming coverage on Genting Poker TV has been sensational this year for online poker fans watching at gentingpoker.com. Further information on the GPS and all the latest news can be found online at gentingpoker.com

Yes Frankie, all details here http://www.gentingpoker.com/genting-poker-series/leg-8-2013-dusk-till-dawn/

This GPS leg will REPLACE our £300 January Deepstack

Interested in opinion on how many runners people think this event will get as we are providing the dealers.

Cheers Simon

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the biggest leg of the tour.

Me too! Perfect buy in and venue and more importantly no big horse race that weekend. Nice.

The racing workers have been cursed these last 2 years with really good reasonable buy in events all on MASSIVE racing Saturdays. Let's hope 2014 is different and we can grab a bit of the fun of a deep run or a boozy weekend with pals.

Or both.

Am sure this will be a great tournament.

Have a couple of questions.

1. It says players can have one entry and one re-entry per day one. Does that mean in theory I can fire 6 bullets, two online and two on each of the day one's at the club?
2. The buy in is £400+40, but for 1a online it says £430+10. How does that work?

Cheers!

Hi

1. technically you could fire 6 bullets if you were so unlucky. entry + Re entry per day.
2. we have to charge a portion of the reg fee to cover online costs this is the reason its split to £430 + £10 essentially still cost to the player is £440 total

Hope that helps, We will be launching a joint sat programme in the coming weeks

So If I'm playing the online day one - £430 of my buy in goes into the total overall prizepool and £10 is rake? Have I understood that right? If I have then fair enough!

EDITED BECAUSE I CAN'T USE THE QUOTES!

My understanding is that £400 to prize pool £30 to DTD rake £10 to ipoker rake.

We now have a 12 month club calender http://www.dusktilldawncasinonottingham.com/club-calander.php showing the 2 x GPS events at DTD in 2014. There is a dedicated GPS events page that will be kept updated http://www.dusktilldawncasinonottingham.com/news/gps-nottingham/2379
