So now pick 'the best' Right Back to go to the Blonde squad.

The top two voted players will get on the plane!

Glenn Johnson Huh?

Was there one in the 1910s I've forgotten?

Mark Wright has done a lot since TOWIE Grin

Wasn't he a centre back?

Mark Wright was never a right back, at any club or Internationally. What is he doing in the list?

There is also likely to be a significant bias towards players that people remember in the voting. I know who is clearly best, but no one will haver seen him to vote for him!

Some of us are old enough to remember George Cohen but even I never saw Don Howe, Sir H'Alf, Bob Crompton or the man 'who I call' Jimmy Armfield.

Pretty sure I know who Dad would have chosen though.

Do you mean best or do you mean who had the edge in their time?

Its gone from being a bit of a knock about to a multi billion pound sport, as such players standards and professionalism standards have improved somewhat.

Can't think of a sport where the top from 20 years ago could be top today outside of maybe boxing (and of course the non athletic sports)

Fitness maybe, but do you think the young Cruyff would struggle today technically? Or Maradona? Or Charlton (R obviously), Best, Law, Peters. So much mediocrity in the PL these days masquerading as 'World Class' many of whom wouldn't get into the teams of 20 or more years ago even with the advance in fitness and such.

Giggs won a PL medal as an integral part of the 92/93 team, and then won another, 20 years on.

I could be wrong, but I think the difference between 1993 and 2013 is substantially less than that between 70s and 90s.

You're probably right, but that wasn't the issue I was addressing with Flushy. Although I still argue that Cruyff et al would hold their own today
