pretty standard 'middle england' responses you would expect from the bbc.  They can hardly be seen to be coming on and encouraging their listener base to take up gambling.

BBC with The VC Effect starting @ 8.00 Mins

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0418mh1

Regards

M

Hmmm not a fan of the host's agenda. It's all very much leaning towards the "it's addictive, dangerous" side (esp after the mini break from 18:00 onwards) and he's so sceptical of the guys that came on with positive stories.

Maybe it's just me, interested to here others thoughts.

He didn't sound particularly negative to me though I was more annoyed about something else.  Why were the players been asked about where their winnings come from and have they thought that it might come from gambling addicts and degens etc etc....   I don't understand how this is relevant to them?

Because Agenda.

Pretty frustrating slant on what should be a seriously good bit of coverage for poker.

Some clown has run a huge bluff on The Guardian and persuaded them to let him write a little piece about Vicky's win.

I had a bit of a delve into that piece by Floppy in The Guardian, & it seems the piece came about due to "figbat", see....

This article was commissioned after a suggestion from figbat.

So I had a look at "figbat" & found this......

In the "Comments" section, & in reponse to .......

"She always comes across as a very nice and genuine person "

......some twerp wrote this.......

People used to always say the same about Jimmy Savile; you never can tell.

Who'd have ever imagined that linkage? We live in strange times.

Floppy's article doesn't seem to be *quite* what figbat suggested!
