Dont dislike what he does for people but he is a smug git imo

Martin Lewis not camel btw

Always worth a tweet asking if he as anymore fgs free money coups planned as well Smiley

Quality coup that carling cup final was 2008 i think.  Remember backing Theo at 45/1 FGS comical scenes.  Betfair let them all off paying up as well the MSE scum to stop the bad publicity the exchange would get.

Missed it? What happened?

i would have paid good cash to see these weasals' faces when all the non runners were taken from the betfair market and their page of green profit turned to a massive sea of red right in front of their eyes and the panic set in.

two questions then:

1. how was it resolved?

2. is it still possible for liability to exceed balance on markets where there are definite NRs?

This. I loved the excitement on the first thread, "I make £6 every 15 seconds".... lol. I'm gutted it got written off.

that was an entertaining read despite working out the ending before it had gotten to the end of page one

loved the guy that lost 12k thinking he broke even and earned 6000 betfair points lol

Was the most incredible decision from Betfair to refund those punters their money. I guess caveat emptor doesn't really apply.

As Red says still looking back even now what a strange decision.

There are some bosses who would welcome the chance to have the way betting and laying work published all over the media, even if it were in articles with a negative slant against the company. However, you can see the logic for the refund: MSE has a fairly wide network of potential spinners with a little extra savings at their disposal. They can also make a lot of noise and make the company look like greedy baddies (irrespective of whether that's really what happened and notwithstanding the irony).

Would they do it now? I very much doubt it.

When we have a bet, we know what we're getting ourselves into. We make mistakes and sometimes costly ones, but we are sensible enough to know what is going on and how much our exposure is. Often we have got to that point after having learned from our experiences. We have been fortunate to have been able to learn from those experiences. Those threads make some pretty grim reading, from whichever way you look at them.

Not only did they get their money back but by earning 6000 bf points he prob jumped three stages on the commission chart at least maybe five and ended up paying 4.0% instead of 4.5% for the rest of the week. Bf wouldn't have been smart enough to take his 6000 bf points off his points balance so effectively he got rewarded for this fuck up.

Even though Betfair is a different company than it once was, I expect the fella who lost 12k but had nothing would "get away with it" most places now.  He'd probably end up with zero or some token repayments.  You can't take money from those that don't have it.

Crazy read, the wonders of a forum, felt like it was happening as I was reading. So many so called clued up people got sucked in and they just didn't have a clue.

Any blondes get a load from the other side, the bets? Arboy mentioned Theo FGS at 39's?
