i thought that money going back would be a similar thing to a "refund" on a credit card (if that makes sense).

Specifically interested if anyone has any experience of buying chips with their skrill/neteller card.

I think there is a slight but crucial misunderstanding here, though I may be wrong. You cannot buy CHIPS (as such) with plastic.

When you present your Credit or Debit Card at the Casino Cashier's Desk, they do NOT give you chips in exchange - they give you cash. Without even touching that cash, you can then ask for chips in exchange, & you will be given the chips.

There is a subtle difference.

So, when you are ready to cash out, you can only be given cash really, as you purchased the chips with cash. 

Of course, in a well run venue such as DTD, when you  want to cah out, they give you all the options - cash, Bank TX, Cheque, or "leave it on deposit" with them.

Pretty sure you can't use a credit card to buy cash at a casino. You definitely can't at DTD that's for sure.

Debit cards are fine but not credit cards.

Am sure you are correct. I am afraid I get confused by the difference between Debit Cards & Credit Cards. I still have an Access card, but I rarely use it these days.

You ask the cashier to 'look after' the cash for you and you will collect on a different day.  They will ask you to sign a receipt to confirm you have deposited £x with them and you use this recepit to collect the cash whenever you choose.

So the casino acts as a bank (?) but gives me a receipt instead of my having like a bank statement.

When I want the cash do I have to take all of it out at once, or could I pull some out to play the following evening and get an amended receipt for the remainder? (and then put my winnings and what i pulled out back on deposit?)

I realise this is pretty straightforward/ simple questions, and I appreciate the time taken to respond

I don't think it's possible to do a refund onto a card.  In the old days you could 'buy' your cheque back with chips so the bank manager didn't have to see you have been on the chevy late at night in a casino when the casino cashed them.  Pretty sure it's for money laundering reasons.

I remember when I first joined the mob in 99, and was on first year wages. The landlord of my local used to let me post date cheques at the end of the month

Was like interest free Wonga before wonga existed.  You could easily borrow a ton for 5 or 6 days interest free if you timed the banking dates right before the cheque got cashed.

Yeah, used to give him a cheque, and then just ask him not to bank it before X.

Aspers Stratford once refused to give me cash and made me get chips wander about the casino for a bit and return to a different bloke. All rather bizarre. If its your local casino they tend to be much more relaxed.

Have to admit, Luton G did the same to me once.

I wanted some cash, & they would only give me chips.

So they plonked the chips on the cash desk, & I said, "OK, I have the chips now, can I exchange them for cash please?"

The Young Lady said "you have to touch them first, so the camera can see you have accepted them".

So I placed one finger, all theatrical like, on top of the top chip, & the Young Lady said "that's fine, I can give you cash now".

She then cut the stacks & counted them.

I said "why you do that, they have not moved since you gave them to me?!

She said "I have to let the camera see that I counted them after you touched them".

"Fair 'enuff"
