Just because someone votes UKIP does not make them a racist.

That said, if you are a racist, you probably voted for UKIP.

This.

I would guess there would be at least 250k people who voted labour and tory who people on here would consider racist.  To say racist people only vote UKIP is crazy.

What proportion of the UK do you think is racist?

Depends on your definition of racist.  If you include the millions of people like Ryan describes who say uncomfortable things because they don't get out often/Dave Whelan old types who grew up in a totally different era then literally millions imo maybe even approaching 10 million in the uk.

I think its one of the things to be most proud of being British.

We are incredibly accepting compared to the rest of the world.  I can't think of any other nation that comes close.

If like some on here, assuming that wanting tighter immigration controls makes you racist then 76%

What is your definition of racist and what do you think the % is?

A person who discriminates against another person purely because of their race or contry of country of birth.

I have no idea at the percentage - wild guess would have been 2% of adults.

I don't buy this "just because someone says a racist thing, it doesn't make tham a racist".

If you say something racist, by definition you are racist. You've proved yourself prejudiced.

All the new SNP MPs had profiles in the Sun today (Scottish). Mainly basic council experience, career councillors. Some business owners, ex teachers, an IFA (lol) - time will tell I would say. The press will be after them, I do sense a lot of upcoming "scandals" , which will be defended as witch hunts, which will likely be part true.

If that is your definition then i would say there are upwards of 10million racists in the uk.

On the departing MPs some undoubted losses to the house. Those politicians opposing sides detest are normally the best. Those that shirk hard decisions, toe the middle line and are never heard are just a waste of a seat. Those that make tough descisions, stand by them and push the boundaries are not often well liked but it's a broken house without them.

Steve Webb wandered out with a whimper. Longest serving pensions minister for donkeys and made more change than I thought imaginable. Not even in the top 50 stories of the night.

Under/Over party's MPs for the 2020 election:

Liberal Democrats 14.5
SNP 40.5
Labour MPs in Scotland 15.5
UKIP 4.5

Which way (over/under) would you go if you had to bet on those totals?

By 2020 UKIP are gone.

In 2017 we'll have had the referendum and that's their single issue. We'll either be out of Europe (unlikely) or we'll have voted to stay in and the issue will have been put to bed.

I thought the SNP would be gone (for a decade at least) by losing the indy referendum.

Just read an interesting opinion piece that Labour's awful performance in Scotland was due to sharing a platform with the Tories in the run up to the vote.

My lines.

I should have asked for a guess on all of them, rather than give my lines.

Over (Some supports switch back, 10 years on from the "go into coalition" betrayal)
