I'm currently having a discussion with someone who is telling me that my 4b sizing is dreadful, that calling the 5b is a mistake and then not donking the flop is also a mistake, and I would appreciate thoughts on these comments.

my 4b sizing is dreadful

Dreadful is a strong word. It is not dreadful. I'd make it a little bigger

that calling the 5b is a mistake

I like calling the 5bet. I think it's the best play.

then not donking the flop is also a mistake, and I would appreciate thoughts on these comments.

Tell your friend some of his thoughts are 'dreadful'

like why would he 5bet any of the pairs/2 pair combos pre flop and why would he choose to check the flop with them or jam the turn with them?

obviously he did otherwise he'd just have akhh or whatever or kk and we'd put it down to a favourable cooler.

Unless villain is durrr, who always has 86o in 5b pots, then I'd expect KK or QQ like always.

Trying not to  make a "high five the nearest person then call" comment, but literally what are you worried about?

Yh, this probably shouldn't be a thread, at the time I called basically instantly and was loving life. Then I realised this is Tom Dwan's new account and I was drawing dead :p It's the biggest online pot I think I've ever played and I was a little low on confidence after losing it and getting ripped for the way I played it :p

There is a case for 6betting of course.

This is Zoom and 50nl, so it's at these stakes I would most expect players to be thinking something like "he's 4b out the bb light because he knows the btn can 3b my open light, so if he 6bets then I'm ripping"

Having said that, calling is probably still best.
