Thinking of going for the first time with a few from work for the John Smiths Cup day in July.....

Is it walkable from the train station?

Good day out?

Gonna be in the cheap section (Course Enclosure)....alright for a few noisy lads?

Any other advice?

Thanks in advance.

Great day out imo.  Best course in the uk after Goodwood for me. Fair walk from the train station (never done it always got a cab).  Plenty of noisy lads/lasses usually at York.  Best value race course champagne bars in the uk.

Jump in a taxi, much easier.  Last time I went a crazy guy in a mercedes taxi got me there in around 10 minutes,he knew all the short cuts through the usual congestion you have in York.

Also wondering if an hour after the last race will be enough time to walk back to train station (crowds etc)....
