2nd hand in at the Sky Mini today, so blinds are 100/200/25 and we are 6 handed, playing 50k effective. Know basically nothing about anyone on the table. Have Tikay sweating our hand.

UTG opens to 400, we 3b to 1200. Folds back to UTG, who calls.

Flop . Villain donks for 1100, we call.

Turn , villain bets 1100 again, we call again.

River , villain bets 6050, we?

Probably trivial, and I'm fairly happy with what I did, but it's caused a bit of discussion so I thought meh why not post.

Anyone else click the thread without realising it was in PHA?

Are these "interesting" thread titles references to something, by the way?

I feel old!

Also, trivial fold.

I would tend to as standard in online 6max, but I kinda figured in a 110 sky event basically everyone is going to be playing too many hands, playing them too passively, and won't be inclined to fold very often so we could pretty safely 3b for value, dunno if thats reasonable logic?

Surely you want to 3bet when you have the best hand and when most opens are calling you in the early stages of tournaments?

Unless you're BITB, why complicate it?

Now what am I going to spread on my toast? Your tears?

Happy days.

I was really surprised by the fold.

Why were you so sure he had you beat?

He can have the same hand as you a % of the time, no?

The fact that the guy was UTG was probably irrelevant, to my mind. He'll be opening all his A-K, A-Q, A-J, paint-paint combos here.

I'm obviously wrong, I don't play much NLH these days, my game is 10 years behind the time, but I'd never say that was a triv fold.

Guess thats why I play the 4, 5 & 6 card games these days.

Was good to see you last night.

Juat to show how fast & loose these things, with a 50k starting stack, can play, Maria doubled up moments later on a near identical board, when her opponent, who could never be ahead in a month of Sundays, happily re-shoved all 50,000 in the middle.

3bet pre in this tournament, raise turn in this tournament to get value/protect from the sort of hand he inevitably has now he bombs this river.
