Just received a text message from my daughter that a horse that her boyfriends family owns is running today and do I want to place a bet on it? Trouble is I cant get hold of her as to whether it's fancied or not. The horse is called Murray Mount and running at Doncaster at 16:50.

Is this worth a punt? I have no idea about horses!

Thanks.

One of the Oddschecker tipsters has put it up, but it's still around 12/1.

Maybe chuck a few quid on, and that way you're happy enough either way?

These type of races are very tough, lots of unexposed horses which makes it very difficult to rule out any of them.  Half of the time even the trainers/owners don't really know how good they are, not a lot of market support either.  All in all a horrible shaped race.

Very difficult to get away from when a friend gives you a tip, it wins if you don't back it, sods law.

Sounds about right mate! Unlucky about the bet though.
