I enjoyed this article from Popular Mechanics. Worryingly though, I found myself trying to remember the advice in case I ever need it. I had to resist the urge to practice by jumping off the shed.

If I was flying to Italy from Heathrow, would I pass over your house and if so, what height would I be at?

Seriously though, I'm surprised that some sky diver or base jumper hasn't tried it as a stunt. I wonder if it would be possible to build a platform big and soft enough to jump on to from 35,000 feet?

I am on my mobile and am bad at youtube links but you can google freefall into boxes for somebody doing it off a 45m cliff without the wing suit.

10000 feet without the wing suit feels likely to break lots of bits of you even if you don't die?   I am not saying nobody will ever do it, there are some crazy people out there.

Most of the bets placed so far seem more like hopeful punts rather than value spots

Surely though, you could jump from 35,000 feet into Croft quarry if it were filled with those foam rubber blocks that the gymnasts use.

If Celtic tried it and missed, we would have two Croft quarries.
