Ah. I wanted it expressed as a fraction.

13/20, or "thirteen twentieths" I think.

A quarter is 5/20, and two fifths is 8/20.

Think we need to find an expressable common denominator, in this case 20 is divisible by both.

I only think in AF spanner sizes, like 19/32 or 11/16.

There's not much between 13/20 and 11/16.

I know, but I don't know how to work out if it's the right answer to my sum.

You have lost me there Tom. I gave the correct answer, and explained how to work it out.

Oh, sorry Tone. When you said "I think we need to find.." I thought we were still looking.

Ha, gotcha.

"I think" was just lack of self confidence, always leave an escape route. Smiley

"we" was just a botched attempt to "teach" you the logic. I always think "we" is a better way to learn stuff. Big psychological difference between "this is what YOU must do" and "this is what WE must do".

Hope that does not come across badly.

I could see that the answer was right, but it didn't sound like it should be expressed that way, I've never heard of 13/20, hence my suggestion of 11/16.

Well I say my, I mean our.

You could express it as 104/160 which makes comparison with the AF size easier.

11/16 = 110/160
19/32 = 95/160
