I was at a conference last week and one of the speakers suggested watching this video.  Totally unrelated to politics mind, but having watched it and the mention of Martin Luther King, got me thinking.

Howmuch does this sort of thinking apply to what we have watched unfold this week?

reproduced in full below is a Telegraph article by Jonathan Freeman headlined “Theresa May is a great self-promoter, but a terrible Home Secretary”, which was pulled after pressure from her campaign. It is excoriating…

She is indeed grossly incompetent and I often though she must have something "on" Cameron to keep her job.

Maybe I've watched The Thick of It and indeed the news too many times but isn't nearly everyone on both sides grossly incompetent all the time?

There isn't a credible reason to think they'd be more incompetent than any other section of society. Definitely convenient for the media to make people think they are though.

Should qualify this a bit in light of Tighty's post above. The whole thing has lost it's way when politicians only care about how they appear in the media. Thatcher/Blair/Cameron have successively led the country wildly astray on this front. Murdoch/Dacre and the Barclay brother's are in charge now.

 George Eaton ‏@georgeeaton

Theresa May is the potential Tory leader Labour MPs have long feared the most. "A more pragmatic Thatcher," says one.

If May gets good majority among Tory MPs, but a Brexiter wins party members, Tories could end up in very similar mess to Labour
