It’ll take a general election for Labour to face up to its crisis

Corbyn won with 61.8%

there was a huge split in pre-2015 and post 2015 members basically confirming a big Momentum led takeover of the party

"63% of pre-2015 members voted Owen Smith. Team Smith described them as the backbone of the party: councillors, canvassers (yougov data)"

Meanwhile this came out yesterday

"May more in touch than Cameron; better than Corbyn to unite country: ComRes for Independent"

as one commentator said, Corbyn v popular in his core, but the votes he secured to win the leadership again amounted to about 10 constituencies worth of votes

or put another way

to win an election you need the number of people who watch Great British Bake off to vote for you

to win a leadership you need the number of people who watch Minder on ITV4 to vote for you

Cameron's Head of Comms, Craig Oliver: May repeatedly refused pleas to help Remain (Was she a secret Brexiteer or simply too anti-Dave?)
