Trouble is, so long as the demand for migrant labour exists that demand will be met whether we're in the EU or not

fwiw I don't really disagree with anything in the speech. More money for areas dealing with population increases, stopping bogus colleges enrolling students only to let them disappear and taking steps to ensure that migrants play by the same rules at british nationals are all sensible policies imo.

I do wish that you'd change the 'thick racist' record though. You clearly didn't have to be either to believe the Leave campaigns promises.

Tim Montgomerie نmontie

Ukip's @DianeJamesMEP did not threaten Labour in North. If @Steven_Woolfe now becomes leader, Corbyn's troubles have just got much worse.

Whats next for UKIP if May pursues a hard brexit? Has she effectively de-fanged them and Labour also (as if they needed to) by distancing her government from george and daves austerity policies?

i think the remarkalbe thing is that the referendum has enabled so much of UKIP's thinking to get into (expected hard brexit) government policy, even though they only have 1 MP

it may well marginalise UKIP at the next general election (though i still think there is a risk to labour working class votes if UKIP play it right) but arguably the party has achieved much of what it wants without much electoral representation at all

arguably, the referendum has rode over the first past the post parliamentary general election system

this Amber Rudd speech "firms should list names of foreign workers etc" "name and shame" etc

she suggested companies report on % of foreign workers not list names. but no matter, still eye opening jaw dropping stuff isn't it?

it isn't lawful? Discriminating against foreign workers breaches the Equality Act 2010.

Yes blatantly illegal and obviously would be one of the shortest cases ever to come before the ECJ.  (Or the Supreme Court when the great repeal act makes all EU law into UK law.

This just follows the pattern of May's ministers absurd statements about the post brexit world.  I can only imagine that the are preparing the ground for blaming the EU for any adverse effects.

Was hardly worth playing the WSOP main event in the 1860s.

Easier to stay at home and play a grand tournament at the Vic.
