Interesting read from the new minister for Brexit:

David Davis: Trade deals. Tax cuts. And taking time before triggering Article 50. A Brexit economic strategy for Britain

(((Dan Hodges))) ‏@DPJHodges

Labour source tells me he now estimates freeze date decision has cost Corbyn 180,000 votes.

after her first speech on the strret outside no 10

Tim Montgomerie ن ‏@montie

Theresa May is going to defy right/left labels. She'll be "right" on immigration, security. "Left" on social inclusion

James Forsyth ‏@JGForsyth

Theresa May not leaving much space there for any new Labour leader, or new centre left party

Alastair Campbell ‏@campbellclaret

Labour in even more trouble I'd say

James Forsyth ‏@JGForsyth

Clear that Theresa May gets that the referendum was about more than the European Union

Jacqui Smith ‏@Jacqui_Smith1

Congratulations new PM Theresa May - parked squarely on the centre ground!  I wish it hadn't been left quite so empty for her.

Theo Bertram ‏@theobertram

May is stealing the clothes worn by Blair & Brown. Meanwhile, Corbyn's message to New Labour supporters is go join the Tories.

Peter Walker
‏@peterwalker99

The sound you hear is Theresa May's tanks arriving, and parking, on Labour's lawn.

Jeremy Cliffe ‏@JeremyCliffe

Today:
- Labour on verge of reelecting a leader who clearly loathes the median voter
- Tories appoint PM who steals Labour's last manifesto

Stephen Daisley ‏@JournoStephen

May's speech was not only centrist but at times centre-left. Anyone who thinks UK politics is about to calm down is kidding themselves.

Nick Cohen ‏@NickCohen4

Labour people go on about how they hate Tories. They should listen to Theresa May and be terrified by them

Lionel Barber ‏@lionelbarber

Boris Johnson would be delicious choice for foreign secretary - showman diplomat while real power is via cabinet office and Brexit minister

Alex White ‏@AlexWhite1812

Boris Johnson to FCO is a perfect move. In place to receive all the blame for every Brexit disappointment and failed negotiation

George Parker ‏@GeorgeWParker

Boris, David Davis and Liam Fox: May puts three Brexiters  in charge of delivering the brave new world outside the EU.

 Guy Walters ‏@guywalters

May plays a blinder. Makes Johnson Foreign Secretary, and then, with two subsequent appointments, renders the job almost irrelevant. Clever.

Sunder Katwala ‏@sundersays

Brexiteers have the global portfolios (Johnson, Foreign; Davis, Brexit; Fox, Trade, tbc) & ex-Remainers have the home front

Scumbaggery IMO from Labour not to stand and SNP not to clap

Cameron was the one who rallied for his party to do the same for Blair

The issue here and I even I felt sorry for Cameron a little is that the ovation/applause would traditionally be for what the outgoing PM achieved. Cameron and his own speech alludes to it, achieved nothing.  Even if Brexit is ultimately a success, for him it is a big failure. Gay marriage is all he's got and even an enlightened chimpanzee knows that one was overdue.

It's nothing to do with political achievements it's about common courtesy. Cameron did something very nice that transcended partisanship and given we live in one of the more divided times in our history I think it Labour missed a chance to make a nice gesture and the SNP were plain mean spirited.
