David Davis gives another Brexit hint, says govt will guard against labour shortages - business need for EU migrants will trump euref promises

not sure that is going to go down well in some leave quarters, but it was never an argument put clearly enough by remain pre 23-jun, the economic case for immigration

If it wasn't so sad it would be funny.

The racists who supplied the votes to ensure Leave won are going to suffer the pain from the erosion of rights leaving the EU entails and they aren't even going to get the satisfaction of seeing the back of Johnny Foreigner.

You appear to be very blinkered. Voting remain is a huge vote for perpetuating the capitalist status quo, supporting working class wage depression and a vote for the largest mass exploitation  of migrant workers in our history. The fact that the leavers want to perpetuate this too is quite ironic

Hands up..who knew nothing would actually change to benefit the working man

Top trolling as ever Glenn.

If you think these rights http://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?catId=82 for the working classes will not be eroded under this far right wing government you are living in cloud cuckoo land.

Haha. Fair point. The clues are there and evidenced pretty thoroughly for the last 35 years. Seriously, I think we're all brainwashed into thinking the prosperity of a few is prosperity for all. Makes me so fuming

Tbf. I don't doubt it for a second. My point, if I even have one, is that Brexit or not is a splendid irrelevance. There are the fuckers  and the fucked. I hate those fuckers

I'd say about 95% of the posts on Blonde need to start with this phrase.

I think Nuttall will find that the position of Labour Destroyer-in-Chief has already been filled.

Richmond was the first time since 1909 that Labour recorded less than 5% in a London by-election

granted, just about the least fertile Labour constituency, but still....

Most Labour supporters will have voted tactically.

The reason I'm so angry and outraged at Brexit vote is that the very people who have delivered the Leave vote are the ones who are going to be fucked the most by it.

They have been drip fed lies by the media since the days of Thatcher that all their woes are the fault of Brussels and immigration.

In their minds they finally got the chance to put two fingers up to those twin oppressors, but the simple fact is they will be even  more fucked once we've left.

Isn't this exactly what a significant proportion of white working class voters turned out for? Voting leave to restrict the supply of labour and push up (or at least slow the erosion of) real wage levels?

Chance for UKIP to land some heavy blows if Nuttall can keep a lid on the more vocal crazies and channel a consistent and coherent message.

Same old tories looking after big business and labour floundering so vote UKIP feels like something that could gain some serious traction

Fair analysis. Too predictable that we either remain or pay for free trade, allow freedom of movement and then pretend we left. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth and then we'll vote in a tory government

Zing. I'm not a huge fan of gotcha-ing somebody on the first day of their new job but surely she must have known somebody was going to come at her with this?

How do these people that can't take the heat under questioning get anywhere near elected office? The presenter teed her up perfectly by being incredibly obtuse. All she had to say was that Davis, Boris and Fox can't even speak with one voice on Brexit so its ridiculous to suggest that the 52% spoke with one voice on what path the government should follow to achieve Brexit.

Well played by the presenter showing up the chancers that don't do their homework

Speaking of stitch up, this was a woeful attempt by Dermott Murngahan. There is plenty you could probably stitch Kassam up on as well

Maybe you're not familiar with Theresa May? Winning whilst being utterly fucking useless is en vogue. The biggest gaffe in modern politics is any demonstration of knowledge or mental agility.
