Hello Blondes!

My name is Nathan Davies and I plan on playing at the WSOP this year.

Cheesy mug shot

I am offering 40% of my action in the following package to Blonde members only:

2015 WSOP Event #54 - 10k PLO Championship - $10000

2015 WSOP Event #61a Little One for One Drop - $1000

2015 WSOP Event #68a NLHE MAIN EVENT - $10000

My History

I started playing poker in 2009, but it wasn't until 2010 that I started taking the game very seriously. I watched many videos and began reading an awful lot of hand histories in various poker forums. In 2011, I found Blonde and I very much liked what I found, with great resources in PHA. Over the last four years I've learned a great deal with help from this board. Since a pretty big score in WCOOP 2013 I have been playing the toughest MTT fields there are on stars. I've also been fortunate enough to have Pads and rfgqqabc as my closest poker friends. I'm just coming to realise just how big a benefit this actually is. I've raced karts at British championship level until I was 19 too, I feel growing up in these high pressure races gives me an edge in high pressure situations.

My Background

As previously mentioned, I began to take poker fairly seriously in 2010. Although I was a small winner in local card room and casino tournaments, I had a hunger to improve. (I don't think I've ever lost this hunger since tbh at whichever levels I've played) I was technically deficient, although I feel I have always had innate people reading abilities, which kept me afloat. Once I'd found all the reading material I could ever hope for in pha forums my technical ability improved massively. Through 2011 and 2012 the majority of my volume in live play came at the cash tables, playing £1/1 and £1/2 at the Vic, DTD, Aspers Northampton and Luton mostly. I did play the occasional live tournament here and there, but it was 2011 that I began playing mtt's online seriously. Due to work taking me to places that didn't have the live game nearby, a decent chunk of my volume became online mtt play. Since the start of 2013, 95% of my volume has been online at Pokerstars.

I play mainly large field large guarantee tournaments. I feel the games I play best in are deepstacked games, like the rebuys and cubed/quad tournaments. I have many very deep runs in these games for the volume I play. These are the games I feel I have learnt the most in, due to the high percentage of excellent players compared to the size of the fields. My deep runs in many big guarantee Sunday tournaments have definitely been influenced by techniques I’ve learnt in these rebuy+addon games.

Throughout this period, I have run my own non-poker related company very successfully. Although I do not earn my income through poker and thus am not able to play the volume of a full time player, I do not feel I take it any less seriously than 99% of grinders out there.

My Results

My Hendon Poker Mob page honestly is very sparse. I play very little live poker these days.

http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=253543

As you can see, I have the Welsh flag. I am actually as Welsh as a Welsh person could be (I grew up in the Welsh equivalent of Mordor), but I’ve lived in England now for many many years, not that you could tell from my accent. :p

My biggest live score was a staking thread on here. (see below)

I play online with the screen name Ultraballs18.

Although I have played relatively small volume, highlights include:

WCOOP Kickoff 5th for $47000
Chopping the Big$109 heads up for $17k
3rd Weekly PLO
Outright victories in the $55r, the $33c, the $55c and the $33q.
A very deep run to 14th in the $1050 Super Tuesday (staking thread on here)
A very deep run to 14th in the Sunday Warm-up
A very deep run to 11th in the Party Sunday comp
A very deep run to 21st in PLO FTOPS

The past couple of months have seen me concentrating on the game more than any other time. Studying heavily to start I began to increase my volume, unfortunately bricking SCOOP but being incredibly happy with my game. Things have went great post SCOOP. I've achieved a dozen Final Tables which have yielded outright wins in the big44, 109t-30k and PLO $27psko, 3rd in the $109tpsko and 3rd in the Weekly $215 PLO. Results that hurt but still gave me huge confidence in my game include a pure bubble in the $530 Friday 8game and pure bubbling the Monday $530 PLO for the past two weeks.

Overall, due to my live people reading skills (and imo my own controlled demeanour) I feel I have a bigger edge versus the field in a live tournament compared to an online comp even though my results don’t necessarily show this due to my lol sample size.

Previous Staking Threads

See links below for my previous staking threads. I have only ever been staked for previous action sold through blonde. Any other volume I have ever played has always been my own action. All my financial transactions have imo been very quick and concise, whether it be returning winnings or buying small pieces in other good value packages.

Events

2015 WSOP Event #54 - 10k PLO Championship - $10000

http://www.wsop.com/2015/structuresheets/14254-structure.pdf

It has been my dream to play this event for a long time now, and I feel that my current PLO game would have a decent edge on this field. My heart has been forged in the Stars Monday PLO, the toughest weekly Omaha comp online. This comp is an 8max freezeout, 30k starting, 1hr levels. Last years winner took $923k. My mark up for this event will be 1.02

2015 WSOP Event #61a Little One for One Drop - $1000

http://www.wsop.com/2015/structuresheets/14261-structure.pdf

This seemed like a fun little comp that fitted into the schedule pretty nicely so with the size of the likely prizepool it seemed like a decent punt. There is a $111 charity donation that doubles our starting stack but I'll be taking care of this donation myself. It is a re-entry event, however having looked at the structure I will only be firing one bullet at this. I'll ensure to play the earlier, softer flight. Last years winner took $637k. My mark up for this event is 1.15

2015 WSOP Event #68a NLHE MAIN EVENT - $10000

http://www.wsop.com/2015/structuresheets/14268-structure.pdf

Don't think this event needs an introduction but I'll give it one anyway.

This event is the cadillac of Poker Tournaments.

30k starting, 120min levels. This years winner takes approx $8Mill, and with the new structure a 1000 players will get a min cash of $15000. Previously only 700 we're paid. I will reg the first day which is a Sunday. I believe this has the best chance of being the softest flight. My mark up for this event is 1.08

Preperation

I will fly in to Vegas with plenty of time to get acclimatised. On all my previous live deep runs I felt bright as a button all throughout, whilt I could visibly see others loosing their concentration intensity levels late in the days. I have put some monster cash game sessions in in the past too. I feel confident that I will be able to maintain high concentration levels throughout these events.
I guess regularly working 13+hour days for days on end does have it’s uses.

Action

Friday June 26th - WSOP Event #54 PLO Championship - 10000*1.02 = $10200
Tuesday June 30th - WSOP Event #61a Little One for One Drop - 1000*1.15 = $1115
Sunday July 5th - WSOP Event #68a NLHE Main Event - 10000*1.08 = $10800

Total = $22115

1% = $221.15

40% Available

Acceptable forms of transfer include Stars or FTP (ultraballs18), BACS, Bank Wire (pm me for bank details).
I would say dollars in Vegas but I'm going to need to know that your a reliable person before doing so.

I believe I've provided all info any potential backers may need in deciding to invest in this package or not. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I will of course provide as regular updates as I can in the thread, hopefully we can get a decce sweat going! It's been my dream to play this schedule for a long time and to finally be in a position to be able to do it is extremely exciting! Those who know me know how difficult it is to get me excited! :p There's obviously no need for me to say how pumped I'm going to be to do well in these comps.

That's all that's left to say is....LetsGo!

Cheers

Nathan

p.s. Hands up who's been reading this in my accent :p

1.5% pls bud

Bless you. Booked Smiley Haven't seen you for ages bud (my fault) hope all is well down there.

One thing I completely forgot to discuss were the exchange rates.

At the moment on XE.com 1% = $221.15 = £143.96

I'm going to lock in this exchange rate for all investments/returns. I think this is the best way forward? If someone has better suggestions then please come forward.

Cheers

Hey Frazer Smiley

I agree that in terms of buy in value it is a big jump, but I fully believe it will overall, be a decent bit softer than the toughest online comps that I play regularly, which are full of players who are constantly studying and working on their game/their lines. I doubt 10% of the 400+ field will have logged as many plo tournament hands as I have the past year (I've pure bubbled the tough $530 PLO the last two Mondays, took 3rd in the Weekly PLO to make up for it tho.)

Not attempting to come across as defensive at all here tho. I'm confident my game will be profitable in that tournament.  police
