With 120 of the 387 remaining, & $927,000 to the winner, the Brits seem to be making a good showing so far.

Still going along nicely are Simon Trumper (close to chip leader), Pleno, Pete Charra, John Gale & John Shipley.

Trumper has an interesting seat, with Jason Mercier & J C Tran in the 2 seats to his immediate left, but it won't bother him.

I just interviewed him in the break, he was so excited he was almost hyper ventilating. Grand to see such enthusiasm in one so old.

He just doubled up the short stacked JC Tran last hand before the break, after he missed a bet & allowed Tran to get there, but he still has 190,000, with the average @ 116,100.

William Kakon raises to 5,200 and Patrick Leonard calls on the button. Brian Roberts calls in the big blind and the three see the dealer fan out a flop of  . All three players knuckle the felt.

The turn is the  and Roberts, first to act, opens for a bet totalling 12,300. Kakon quickly folds but Leonard flicks in the calling chips.

The river is the  , and Roberts goes into the tank, constantly riffling a stack of twenty 5,000 chips before electing to bet 29,100. Leonard quickly calls, and tables  for the under-full house. Roberts mucks his hand.

Patrick Leonard - 285,000
Brian Roberts - 100,000

Have arrived to provide railing services earlier than planned.

Both Pleno and Mr Trumper are still in, but they're on inaccessible tables in the Amazon Room, in the area behind the stage.

Pleno - which I have now had to add to my 'phone's dictionary to stop it autocorrecting to Pliny, Planet or Porno (seriously, in what set of circumstances would these three words be the top three suggestions? Surely, context dictates which I mean?) - sorry, anyway, Pleno is rocking a pair of knee length shorts (jokes in your own time) that, having checked the Dulux colour chart, I believe are Blue Diamond 6:

https://www.dulux.co.uk/en/colour-details/blue-diamond-6

Mr Trumper is in his Devilfish Hall of Fame t-shirt, but has also found his 2015 game with a black hooded sweatshirt. He appears to be purveying banter, although the chap to his right has his Bose headphones flashing, so I can only infer he doesn't know what he's missing. That's Simon Trumper, you ignoramus! Show some respect!

Jason Mercier appears to be wearing some shorts from the eighties: shining to the point of shellsuitiness. The shop assistant must have got a raise that day.

No idea about chipstacks. If anyone was wondering whether this might turn into an actual series of updates, now you know you were sorely mistaken.

Chris Moneymaker has joined the rail. For those who don't know who he is, he won some 100 person MTT at Binion's a few years ago and started an entire revolution.

Down to 41 now (the PLO field, not Chris Moneymaker). One will leave empty handed to be hugged back to health by his friends and beloveds. The rest won't need beloveds because they'll get mahoneys instead.

The Tournament Director picks up the microphone and informs the 41 that it's hand for hand. In doing so, he asks all players to remain in their seats. The players slowly return to their seats, having decided who the most likely bubble boys are on the neighbouring tables.

That is, except one, who requires a personal prompt from the MC.

Another, having obediently returned to his seat, immediately rises from it and runs to the toilet, like a six year old who decides at the most inopportune moment that he needs a wee wee.

The TD reminds the class two minutes later that they should sit down. He is visibly running low on patience.

Ok. No one said that.

Excellent work, Posh Bloke.

Jason Mercier's shorts are either epic, or crucial. Or both. Trigg has nothing on Mercier.

Did you ever see a more embarrassing pair of shorts?

He gets half a point for the shorts matching the baseball cap, but that's the extent of my sartorial generosity.

Pleno just won a big pot. Think it was KKTx > AAxx aipf, where Pleno found a flush.

34 remain.

Pleno check-calls a   two spades flop and then leads the   turn.

I didn't think the kids these days let you get away with moves like that. Well, villain folds after a long head-scratch. Pleno offers a portion of bonus rubs by inviting the opponent to see Pleno's hand for a dollar. Opponent declines.
