I remember it well, was at the Party Poker big game at DTD, updating the main event

Word spread. People rushed to find their laptops and the room was abuzz

One Pro, playing the big game itself, opined to the bar area in general,

"I was just about to sign my sponsorship deal with Stars..."

and wistfully walked away. You don't see him in any big games four years down the line...

Four years on, how has poker changed for you? is the industry better or worse off?

Barry Carter gives his thoughts on http://www.pokerstrategy.com/news/world-of-poker/How-poker-changed-after-Black-Friday_90835/

your thoughts welcome

I was at DTD too, best place in poker to be when it happened IMO.

Andrew Feldman and Mike Matusow looked very dejected in a corner of the room.

I had to go and find Dusty Schmidt, who was a Pokertars Pro and commenting with Jesse in the big game. He was late and was needed in the commentary room. When I found him I said 'Your needed in the commentary room NOW and the FBI has just closed down PokerStars, so erm, sorry about that'

He took it well all things considered.

Was at Luton. Tikay was trying to play DC and operate blonde at the same time.

Don't think it ended too well Smiley

Wow.  Feels like much longer than 4 years ago.  Was at dtd that day and remember quite vividly the strange atmosphere as people were marching around on their phones wondering wtf was going on with no idea what was happening to their entire net worth in some cases.

Not wrong. Strange how it I can recall every detail as if it were yesterday.

Chinese Alan was on my table, he had serious money on the site, & was not happy.

blonde exploded with posts, within 10 minutes, the thread had run to about 15 pages, "wtf, omg omg omg" & the like.

I went on my I-pad to post something about it, & the thread promptly disappeared, just like that - gone, gone forever.

After some momentary nonplussmentage, I realised I had accidentally deleted the whole damn thread. I went on the Mods Board, "who deleted that thread?" I asked. Iron said "you did". Ahh, right. My I-pad used to "jump" when it opened a page, & I'd somehow pressed the delete button.

I started a new thread & fessed up instantly. xx, who is a mate, & a really good lad, but who had a lot of money on 'Stars, was a bit cross with me, "wtf" sorta thing. Could not blame him, but these things happen, they just do, don't they?

Over that weekend., I went on to 2+2. I take no pleasure at all from people's discomfiture, but my oh my, the responses on 2+2 were something else.

I'm gonna read Craters account of Black Friday now.

I had traveled across to the east coast of Scotland for a wedding of a high school friend on the Saturday, I still vividly remember getting a phone call on the Friday afternoon telling me that the FBI had shut down Stars and FTP and realising that I had not brought my RSA tokens with me (since it was not as if I was planning on playing online poker at the wedding).

Not sure I was particularly great company that weekend at the wedding, considering how much of my net worth I was sweating

that was a asurreal day at DTD

the news broke during the early levels of the main event

at the front of the room the partypoker big game was on, with more patches than a pirates convention on show

rushed trips to the car park, firing up laptops, a hububb in the bar.

An interesting day, looking backi
