Bought one of these on a whim at the weekend whilst wandering round Costco.



Up until now a torch meant one of these as far as I was concerned:



The difference is, err, night and day, 1000 lumens is roughly twice as bright as the sun. Took the dog for a walk last night and lolled. This thing could light up trees 300 metres away, set it to a narrow beam and it does a pretty good impression of the Batman searchlight.

I have a super bright torch too, LED Lenser, it's amazing.   I don't do much other than shine up the woods opposite my house and gasp in amazement.  I love it.
