20 years ago today came the climax of one of the most gripping real life (& death) dramas ever, & if you were a teenager or older then, you must remember how the world was gripped by the televised trial of O J Simpson.

Forget all those fictional TV Dramas, this was the real thing, & we were able to watch every minute of the trial, live on TV.

Twist in the tail, too - we all knew he would be convicted - but he was found Not Guilty, to worldwide gasps, though that was far from the end of the matter. He was eventually sent to prison for 33 years on an unrelated matter, & becomes eligible for parole in just over a years time from now.

Would you be surprised if he made parole?

It even began in a blaze of glory, with OJ (in the white vehicle) fleeing the police, & every second of the chase was shown LIVE on TV. People even lined the streets to watch it, cheering & waving as the convoy drove past.

Would you be surprised if he made parole?

I'd be very surprised if he did not make parole.

And when he does, of course, enormous wealth awaits, as a media & TV celeb.

He's put a bit of weight on, mind.

The Court spent days analysing DNA evidence, which suggested there was a 1 in x billion chance that the DNA samples were wrong.

Then there was that moment when OJ had to try on the gloves used in the murder, to prove they fitted him. If they did, he was guilty. If not, he might get off....

Well it seemed like they did not fit, to OJ's great relief. later, it was suggested that the internal lining was torn, which prevented him putting his hands in properly.

One of the best shows that's ever been on. I used to leave work on time, which is unknown for me, and rush home to watch that day's episode.

Fred Goldman, father of Ron Goldman, who was murdered. He was so staunch, strong & eloquent, & never gave up.  Later, he purused a Civil case against OJ & won.

Marcia Clark might just have done well financially out of that case more likely from her book " in a deal reported to be worth $4.2 million". She looks a lot younger now.
