Spotted this in The Guardian, a real blonde blast from the poker past;

Mick McCool, Wow!
What a complex character he was/is.
He could be somewhat abrasive at times but he loved his dogs so he can't be all bad.

I think this might be the last time I ran into him:

Crikey, there's a top 4 full of memories - Mick McCool, Rob Creed, you & Maria.
And that was 13 years ago. Where did the years go?

I saw that quote from him and am left wondering what he really said. Somewhat abrasive indeed.

McBag has killed IR!
Exchange shops made a dent in it in the late 00s, press boxes on course left a big hole in it not long after and drones polished it off.
Who do these characters suppose is going to put up the money for the time-advantage rofflers to steal off them? Paying £200 a day for the privilege of being able to hoover up 1.01s at Wolverhampton. Quite ridic.

Good lad, Mick.
Definitely abrasive
Think I last spoke to him on the phone just before I moved house, so that would be ~8 years ago.

That is actually quite a significant tourney for me.
Shortly after that final I lent a few hundred quid to someone I had been very friendly with around poker for ~15-years.
We used to speak on the 'phone several times per week, but after this loan I never heard from him and rather than chase him I thought I'd just wait for him to call me - thirteen years later and I'm still waiting..

That sort of thing sucks so bad.
Saved himself 13 years of 3x superficial phone calls a week for £300, cheap at the price.

It is still around
https://twitter.com/foxfly11?lang=en
He has been banned from several greyhound tracks allegedly because of things he has posted on social media.
Man who flys drones to fleece in running punters complains about the integrity of greyhound racing.
