Do the viewing figures vary much based on the guest or are they pretty flat week on week?
They vary dramatically, but it's usually hard to correlate with a particular Guest.
To muddy the water still further, viewing figures are not measured in simple terms, when we get the Report is has scores of categories, but broadly speaking, they are measured by how long the viewer watches, & this can be measured in seconds & minutes. Above 3, 5, 10 or 20 minutes is usually the main yardsticks. Bizarrely, even sub 30 seconds is measured, and as you can imagine, that's often the biggest category.
The real clues as to the volatility of the figures are...
What was on immediately before? If it follows, say, a big football game on the same channel, that helps.
As for this Tuesday, I'd have a good bet that the figures for the first segment would be lower than expected, as the West Ham Man U game over-ran by some time, & the post-match interviews & punditry get really high figures. Once that ended, viewers start scrolling the remote to see what else is on, & at that point, the Show would have picked up more viewers. We won't get to see those numbers until next month though. The total viewers number jumps around enormously, but broadly speaking, on Sky Sports, the Show gets 20 times or more views than the old 861 (non-Sky Sports) Show got. It's a tidy 5 figure number, but has yet to threaten 6 figures.
That was exactly me.
