Hey everyone,

I'm trying to install a HUD for zoom games on stars and other sites.

Really the main things i'm interested in are how active someone is, in late position etc, cont bet stats, stuff like that.

I had previously downloaded PT4 for the free trial, which I used for 3 days:P But was just going to purchase it.

But it throws up this message:

Unable to login to database (postgres). Reason: could not connect to server: Connection refused (list of numbers/****) Is the server running on host "Huh?" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

I also tried downloading HM2 but had same issues, something about PostgreSQL Server, I went through the "help" guide but nothing seemed to work.

I have also downloaded Jivaro, a free HUD but havnt had the chance to use it yet, would this be adequate enough for what i'm looking for?

I don't need anything complicated, other thing I would use HUD for would be to go over HH and track profit / loss that kinda thing.

Thanks All

Would not recommend Jivaro, really it's a drastically inferior program to the main two alternatives.

Imo, for reviewing and cash, HEM is superior, for tournaments PT4 seems better.

EDIT - apologies, still don't think I play high enough to be worthy of an opinion

I'd had an error like this before but the menu it came up with had something like reconnect on it, and I just had to select my database and away we go. Never used Jivaro and I'd recommend PT4 over HEM2 as it seems way faster but that could be a combination of new laptop/smaller db etc. I think it is regarded as quicker though.

Ensure you have postgreSQL installed on your computer, and that it is running in task manager when pt4 is running

I've had that error before but support didn't have any suggestions beyond reinstalling postgreSQL. Google came up with a few suggestions like reverting to older versions of SQL but that didn't work either and I ended up just starting a new database.

What version of windows are you running?

Dan it's windows 10, I was wondering if that maybe had something to do with it, the upgrade.

Yeah I had the error after upgrading to windows 10 but it was fine for a few months after the upgrade.

If I had to guess I'd say its probably a windows update that was auto-installed that has a compatibility issue with PostgreSQL

I created the new database about 4 months ago and I haven't had any issues since. You can open a support ticket on the PT4 website, as dakky mentioned they are usually pretty good at responding to problems, this was the only issue I've ever had that hasn't been sorted by support. There was a new version of PostgreSQL released in April so PT4 support might have found a fix since I last asked them about it
