with so many of the big clubs spending a lot, and seemingly evenly matched, are we on the verge of a new competitive era? previously a club or two has dominated for spells and we haven't had a really close title battle too often....

I don't think Spurs will finish in the top 4.

After perhaps an understandably shakey start, Conti has got Chelsea playing very well. They tore Man U apart yesterday, although Man U heads dropped at 2-0. The shakey start due to a) not having enough time to get the squad to buyin to the new regime & style of play and b) high expectations from Roman and the nouveau Chelski fan-base 😉.

Looking ahead, Chelsea don't have the Champs League fixtures to distract them or to put fitness/injury pressures on the squad. Notwithstanding a long FA Cup run (though this would be fine), Chelsea look to have a great chance of winning the EPL with a strong run up the rail.

Looking at the betting (I know this wasn't part of the question, but here goes anyway), City are far too short at 5/4 now that they've shown some vulnerability and they have yet to navigate the weight of mid/late season fixtures, but Chelsea at 6-1 is still a little short IMO with e/w only paying 1-2. As someone else has already suggested, Spurs at 11/1 seems the best value in the top 5.

For the record, I'm an armchair Evertonion.

I'd love to see Spurs win it personally,mainly due to the fact I'd enjoy watching the meltdown of Arsenal fans, but I personally think it's Chelsea's title based on what we've seen so far this season.

whilst i would love to see pool get 21 points from 7 games, it is not happening.

i would be astonished if any team in the prem wins 7 on the trot all season.
