Has the button paying the ante structure been discussed anywhere on here already? I've been mulling it over in the back of my mind for a couple of nights and haven't quite decided if I like it or not.
Paul
"For this event we will be using a new concept of 'Button Ante' wherein the button pays a fixed amount to cover the antes for the whole table. .
Simon Trumper has provided a thorough explanation of how this will work for tournaments and also outlined the benefits for players:
"
Description
Where the player on the button posts an ante equal to the BB instead of current structure which has all players posting.
Benefits
We all know collecting antes slows the game down, especially when having to remind players to post or making change, also sometimes one gets missed and time is wasted working out who it was. By having the button pay a single ante, as well as being easier for the dealer to control it should be self policing as the cut off or sb will also remind them to post and we wont ever have a missing ante situation, the amount is easy to remember as it matches the BB and the game will be much quicker to deal resulting in more hands per level and less stress for both players and dealers resulting in a more enjoyable experience.
The number of 25's can be halved as they are now only needed for the 150 and 250 sb which means all ins will be easier to count and will stop the " small chip " hoarders and generally the BB will be cheaper than standard ante
EG: Blinds 600 1200 200 ante cost 1800 per round but with button ante its only 1200
The CPR ( cost per round ) %age increases are a lot better than a traditional ante which often has 50% jumps whereas with Button Ante the maximum is 33% so the structure will play a lot better for all styles of players.
Only issues are when SB gets knocked out and we have a dead button, the simplest and fairest way is to have no Button Ante posted when this happens and also when play is short handed ie 6 or less players left at which point the button ante becomes equal to the SB which will be similar to traditional structure. EG At 2000 4000 400 ante cost per round on 6 Max would be 2400 with Button Ante 6 handed it would halve from 4000 to 2000.
I think the time saved as well as the removal of irritation when dealers have to constantly remind players, make change eg break a 100 / 500 for a 25 / 100 will definitely increase the number of hands dealt which can only improve the game especially when a shorter clock is required."

further
UKPC It will follow the same models as the current 'Country Poker Championships' £2.2K buy-in, £2M GTD.
"We are more flexible with seats included in prizepools, if a player is unable to make the the target event they will be provided alternative options for spending the seat post event."

Its great that DTD is running this tourney, but my opinion is that with 10% of the prize pool withheld for a future tournament, the date for the 2k really needs to be confirmed before this one happens. Especially if those tickets are non transferable or you can't sell them.
Obvs if the tourney doesn't reach it's guarantee then I think it's acceptable to say how the overlay is distributed. I'm sure a lot of players think these are added value, when essentially 25 players(from example payout structure) are being forced to spend 2.2k of their winnings. on another tourney. Bit of a sharp practice if you ask me if the guarantee is met. If you've finished 25th,you'd get £5450 but 2.2k of that is a seat. If you've satted in, that's a big chunk of change you have been forced to spend. DTD get a lot right and I'm a big fan how things are done but this doesn't win my approval. Maybe they'll change it but it's not gonna stop me having a go at trying to sat in if it stays the same. Anyone else think the same? I understand the reasoning behind it, I just don't agree with it.
Vote with your feet. I haven't played a dtd event since this was introduced because i don't like to be forced to spend any winnings on much higher buyin/skill level events that i don't want to play and i have no edge in. I buy in in cash in full i expect to be paid out in full in cash. Just the same as if i was playing blackjack/roulette or having a bet in the betting shop or race course. If everyone who doesn't like it keeps playing anyway then they will keep doing it.
I am pretty sure the gambling commission wouldn't consider it 'gambling responsibly' either for an operator to force a customer if he cashes in an event to be forced to reinvest such a big % of any winnings into an event of such a bigger size.

Everything is up front and announced well in advance so it isn't false advertising. DTD/Party will put money in through promos like click and collect and overlays in the satties, plus other promos. These tournies are way better than any Stars live 1ks in terms of value. Most people who finish in the top 20 here will probably take a shot in the next big DTD comp anyway.

Tighty, can you clear up some confusion on my part please? If I play a 1/4 final and have 15bb after 18 levels, do I start the semi with 15bb or do they reset the clock? Secondly, if I manage to reach level 18 of the final, is that the stack I take to the live event? Thirdly ,can I play some of the normal sats for tickets and combine them for entry to a larger BI event like those on this page?
Ta very much.
