I have euro accounts with HSBC (quite strict about where money comes from - this will be fine i imagine) you even get a debit card with those accounts which is cool for overseas shenanigans. I also have a euro account with Metro Bank which is good. Used to have with lloyds but they closed me down yrs ago.

My advice, open euro account (very quick and easy - metro bank did it in >1hr) get the euros in there decide what to do with them, so much better to have full control over this though.

This is pretty much what I was suggesting. One has to be so careful with the wording of one's posts on here. But since we're talking about Woodsey's brother, I don't think there's any danger that any advice on here is going to be taken without a complete risk analysis before any action is taken.
