Am i right in assuming then that you advocate risking your tournament life, a tournament that you have been playing for close on 4 hours for what is essentially A High?

Yes. The hand you actually hold is of lesser importance in this situation that the stack and pot sizes and the hand of your opponent.

All in pre-flop.  Failing that, all in on the flop regardless of what cards flop, in my view.
