Nice going Dave.
It looks incredibly green up there.
The courses around these parts are all a yellowy-brown colour apart from the greens. On the plus side I've hit a few pretty long drives lately.

WP Dave looks like you get 5th https://www.howdidido.com/Directory/LiveLeaderboards/1623 tough game when 40 points is 5th. Never played it but had a look a few times as it looks a nice course, it's Bo'ness yeah? Might be green Ralph but it will still be very firm fairways bounces are pretty big till the rain comes back next week. Off to Fereneze tomorrow for a better ball. Never played it before looks nice and looks to be up a hill, might be like playing at altitude in this weather Form continues, followed up the medal 77 with a couple of games of the yellows another 77 then a 74 this morning easily my best round at Alloa, can't wait to see what I start thinking about to mess this run up

Yeah, there were a fair number of burnt fairways on the course. The photo was from a quite a low lying area in the course iirc, which probably held on to moisture. That said, around the greens were all in very good nick. It's north of Linlithgow, eck and well worth a play, but there's a lot of blind shots (and hills). One of our 3-ball had played it a lot which was very helpful.
Good to get a prize and, more importantly, a not bad score towards my quest to get my hcap into the low twenties by the end of the season.

The fairways at Breadsall are like concrete which does result in some freaky drives, (I hit a 375 yarder last week) but if there is any kind of slope your ball runs off into the rough.
I've been going reasonably well, shooting mostly low 90s but I'm still blobbing 2 or 3 holes every round and missing 3ft putts, which leaves me fretting over what might have been.
We played our 36 holer at Rushcliffe on Monday. The winner returned a combined score of 70 Stabbos to squeak in by one point. Modesty prevents me from telling you who it was.
OK. It was me.

Well done Eck, Double, Ralph and Tom on your recent impressive rounds. 👏👏👏👏 Had my best round of golf since joining Onneley last year. Lost a ball missed, too many short putts and took 2 out of a bunker on the 17th. Shot 88 but all those cost me winning today's seniors competition. Came 4th and my partner won it. On the up though. | Click to see full-size image. |
