Only just caught up with this thread..........I might not be very happy about the situation, but I would call every time.

I woulda called too. When i read it i thought that the SB was trying to protect his hand (i thought he had two pairs) and utg had overcards/pair.

You had no choice and I would call every time. You where very unlucky and with that flop I would expect to win 80% of the time

Being a cash game fish myself, I think i would have been very pleased with myself if i were UTG in this hand. Could you tell me why this move is fishy?

I was speaking to one of the stars guys and he was saying that the top tourney players are winning nowhere near as much money as the cash game guys. It looks like something I need to learn, so I was looking over the shoulder of some high rolling scandi's while they were playing on a laptop last night and they were making moves like this all night (admitedly in a shorthanded game)

byron, on reflection you are right...its creeping in more and more to the levels I play...the deception plays/raises can get paid massively....player notes are more vital than ever

Granted this could possibly be true but then as the two games are two completely different kettles of fish chances are not many of the top tournament winners on pokerstars would be able to also be able to make as much as the top cash game guys in cash games.

I can hold my own in the top level of the mutli table tournament arena on pokerstars, i doubt i could do the same at the top level in the cash games.....
