2-4 NLHE Cash, online

You sit with $350

Mateyboy 1 is UTG with $550

Mateyboy 2 is SB with $450

UTG raises to $12

You are in mid position with

you flat call

SB calls, BB folds

$40 IN THE POT

Flop

Marvellous, first aim achieved but the board is horrible

Both mateyboys are average to poor players. see a lot of flops and SB is weak post flop.

I have UTG on a big pair, if so this would be the third smallish raise in the last 20 minutes with JJ or higher in EP

SB, no idea, could be any two

UTG bets out $35

I raise to $100, wanting to get all of UTG's money (lets say QQ/KK/AA maybe AK) in theory and to shut the SB out

SB immediately goes all in for $438 more

UTG immediately all in for $500 More

Your $230 odd now looks rather puny!!

You have 30 seconds to decide...call or fold?

tough but probably a fold. NO its a call one is drawing to the flush and the other has an overpair.

SB has check/raised all in vs a bet and a raise, at least he must have something like

Call. I'd put them on flush draw and AA/KK? And if someone really has J8, you still have outs ...

I think you are ahead right now but have a lot of cards to avoid . Dont think I could laydown a set , I've only just started to laydown the odd overpair!

Got to agree with Jezza here, alot of cards to avoid, but for me its a call.

I had a similar situation earlier this week, albeit in a tourney and managed to hit quads on the turn Cheesy

I'd say that you have nothing to worry about against UTG as he is most likely a fish with KK or AA.  Small blind is a worry though, a hand like or is a possibility as is 9's or 10's, surely not 8 J or 9 10 but you never know on these tables.  Can't see how they could have anything else.

It's not an easy decision but it depends a lot on the players you're up against.  I'd personally call here given its $230 to win $1050.

I'm calling  this from your reads let alone the odds....UTG is on a probable overpair and SB could have a range of hand including even something like TPTK. I don't think I'm good enough to lay it down! I'd be gutted if I saw set over set but c'est la vie.

Well I Called.

As i suggested i read UTG for a big pair

SB i had no idea, and this worried me, I hoped he was drawing but I suspected not...he's check raised a bet and a raise...hmmmmmm...

still i am not laying down too many sets at this level

So in the money goes, no hand improves further

The small Blind has  . Ouch

UTG has, and this was the real shocker... , for the made straight

I was third, and even my outs to the house were counterfiet.

Afterwards I pondered, and thought i should have got away from it. Now I don't think so

However on reflection (and from the majority of your comments, which was why I posted, you would have called) UTG played like a fish and got lucky and the SB took a risk checking his set out of position on that flop...
