P4C has an event coming up in Swindon on May 14th. Titled the 'Great Western'. As a result and because a sponsor is picking up the trophy tab I am looking for a model steam train for the winners trophy - any suggestions anyone?

Make no mistake I am out to win this one as it is my homecoming after nearly 20 years away, so it has to be a nice piece in GWR livery.

Thanks in advance

To quote his nibs "It's not a train, it's a locomotive!"

Never mind all that "his nibs" malarky, it may WELL be a train he's after.

I suspect you don't know the difference betwen a Locomotive and a Train.

Want me to tell you........? It's no trouble.

I thought the locomotive was the engine and the train was engine and carriages together, no?

In all seriousness I guess it is a locomotive I am looking for (the engine bit at the front) which can be mounted on a wooden plinth. Do you have any suggestions for the Locomotive that should be featured and a model shop/supplier that may be able to oblige.

He never asked for a Locomotive, he asked for a "model steam train". These things are very important to get right.

there is a model shop in Candleriggs Glasgow that sells new and second Hand trains and is about Ten minutes walk from Cincins

the Engine you want is  GWR KING "JAMES II" No 6008 and A second hand one will cost you around 30 quid though.  There is also a model that you can get which is already on a plinth and its made of Coal.  it looks great and because its Black it could belong to any railway including the Great western,  hard to get and costs around 40 quid but I might know someone who can get you one
