Rummaging around, I chanced upon this by Barny.....

"...To Tikay: Sorry i wound you up last night, didn't mean you to take me seroiusly......"We were chatting in, I think, Monte Carlo, & he mentioned that he'd seen 425 when I congratulated Mr & Mrs Joe Beevers on becoming parents of twins. Waffling on, as is my wont, I then gave credit to The Hendon Mob for all the doors they have opened for poker players, "they have been great for poker" was my thrust.

So Barny says to me in Monte Carlo "you've upset Joe you know, he said you spoke about us in the past tense, as if we were has-beens".

Well, he suckered me big time. I blustered & spluttered, then I got the Moby out & started to ring Joe to apologise, "I never meant it that way" sorta thing.

Suddenly I saw that bloody mischievous grin that Barny has, & I knew I'd been had.

Be afraid Barny, be afraid. This is my home teritory, & you are in the poo.

But I gotta say, I saw a side of Barny in Monte Carlo I'd not seen before. Sausage Finger Ross was playing brilliant, & looked like he was in with a shot at winning the whole shooting match. And Barny, veteran of hundreds of big-money comps, was there sweating Ross EVERY hand, revving him up during the breaks, the very picture of a truly proud brother. Lovely to see, & very touching I thought.
