I would appreciate your insights into this matter.

I cannot presently get the thought out of my head, so I may as well confront it head on.

Two Jags, the sly old dog.

It is all about power and money.  Why do you think so many celebs have trophy girlfriends?  Because they have a nice personality?  Yeah right!

How many footballers, who look like they've been hit by a frying pan in the face, have model like ladies?

Wealthy/famous poker players?  How long have you got!?

The government's relationship with the media is a two-way thing - they both use each other. As Nemesis said, the timing of this Prescott thing is fortuitous to say the least. Up and down the country in pubs tonight, how many people will be talking about 'how the government let all these foreign rapists and murderers out of jail and lost them?', compared to 'Prescott, eh?'

The media do know about what some politicians get up to, and use that to their advantage. There is plenty of 'if you keep that quiet, then you can have this' type stuff that goes on.

The 'scandal' which brought this home to me most was the Major/Currie affair. Here was the Prime Minister and another member of the government having an affair, yet no one knew about it. The gasps and shocks from within the media and other politicians was genuine - they simply could not fathom that such a high-level piece of gossip could be kept secret for so long, which shows just how 'secret' other scandals are.

Personally I think that anyone who is cheating on a spouse/partner should be named and shamed, it is a cowardly thing to do and IMO totally despiccable.

If you want to sleep with someone else, have the balls to end the relationship you are in first.

While you are away getting your jollies, think of the unsuspecting INNOCENT partner and think of the hurt pain and damge that you are going to cause.

Here Here,

The only thing I have to say about the matter is, that it obviously did not affect his work as an MP, as nobody noticed he was having an affair!!

Good post kev

Don't agree with Adam though. (it's non of our business stuff) Sounds like he's up to no good if you ask me or he's been caught. People are only sorry playing away from home when they get found out.

Although falling from the ugly tree I think Pauline P hit every branch.

I actually could care less about him having the affair...it's the actual thought of someone wanting to shag the guy that is the shocking thing..although as people have said some are attracted to power.

This *has* to be the case in this situation.

I am presuming that this kind of thing is pretty rife in business, except we don't get to hear about it - because again as someone has pointed out - most people aren't in the public eye.

Is it our business? Well, I bet Mrs Prescott wishes it wasn't. It's her I feel sorry for.

So are you not shocked by Mrs. Prescott having been shagging him for years then ?

Or is it merely someone else shagging him on the side that shocks you ?

I haven't seen any news all day, so I have just seen this.  Some very funny posts.

Talking of affairs.  There was also a story about top actor ( Top 50 in my opnion, maybe even Top 10  Cheesy ) Kevin Costner on the front pages of the tabloids today for an alleged dodgy incident at a Scottish hotel.
