There really are some great outsider prices on betfair for world cup top goalscorer,

most notably Didier Drogba for 120 to 1 and Brian Mcbride for 270 to 1 each well worth a tenner bet- all it takes is one of these guys to score a hatrick in a game and hope they can progress through the group and they will be in with a chance,

I mean can anyone tell me the top scorer at the world cup in 1994?? it was a guy called Oleg salenko- we signed him for rangers and he was pure peesh!!! but he scored 5 goals in one game for russia and won top scorer something like this is all u need to hope for

Ill also be backing my man Dado Prso who i thinks also worth backing at 270 to 1

ill prob hedge my bets with £20 bets on Luca toni, Ronaldo(or adriano havent decided) and shevchenko and a tenner on Lampard and Gerrard but obviously hoping one of my big bets to come up

Henry also has a great chance with France having arguably the easiest group so another tenner on him at 16.5

oh dear,

this could be very expensive. And in front of so many witnesses too...

FWIW I believe that any main striker from the top two tiers of countries has a chance of being top scorer, for the reasons Stuart has given, ie - it only takes one game against poor opposition to score a barraload.

My worry for Prso is, since he came back from injury at the turn of the year , he looks to have gained a fair bit of weight, which while it may not bother him in the SPL, could be more costly against better opposition.

And where do u think u'll manage to come up with £100,000 gary??  Cool

seriously tho if you want to shake on the Larsson bet next time I see you in CinCins its a deal- but only for £20 cuz you well have the upper hand in that Larssons a better player and Sweden face Trinidiad and tobago and he could easily get a hatrick in that game, but Prso's Magic so if ur up for it ill bet,

In the event of both tying we play a NL holdem headsup shootout in cincinnatis for the £20 and bragging rights- deal??

I'll give you Persil with the benefit of a dead heat going your way!  I can't be fairer.

£50 only condition I have is that both are named in the final squad and that they must play a minimum of 90 minutes.

agreed- need to be in final squad and play 90 minutes overall or over- doesnt need to be a full game but if they play twice 45 minutes three times 30 minutes etc that counts

Its a done deal then looking forward to that £50  Cool

if The player plays 90 minutes and doesnt score in 1st game then gets an injury in training or something the bet still stands- thats just your donald duck!!
