I've bought in for 800$ villain has about the same, seems to have topped up a little due to notes but I can't really remember him playing any significant pots. Villain is American Chinese, possibly a grinder, seems relatively comfortable at the table and said hello to 1-2 guys. Dealers don't seem to know him though. In the Venetian and DSE is on atm, meaning he might just not be a regular here.

I've opened every button when its folded round to me, not shown many hands down at all apart from AK on q868q when i called a river bet with AK to a small turn/river bet having 3b pre and checked back flop. I've also shown down QQ on a687K vs a river bet and was good. Was pretty card dead for the first hour or so but had a rush of cards. He has defended 1/3 (this hand) from SB and 2/3 from bb vs a minraise. He has been pretty snug.

I open 47o Villain calls from the SB.

Flop Tc4s3d. He checks, we check back.
Turn . He checks, we bet 15 he calls.
River . He checks, we ?

Absolute nutlow river. We have cbet 3/5 times in this situation, however some were multiway, and I think checking back the flop this time is good for our image and allows him to stab, even if this only gives us one bet. WUG?

I usually prefer betting flops in this spot for protection/semi-balance, on this sort of texture with your image can likely expect a few Ace high peels. I'm sure cb is fine too though. Surely we should just showdown river now?

Pretty nasty river card and hard to know what we get called by if we bet here.

One of those small edges where the good players get maximum from hands like this and the rest of us just check it back in fear of being check-raised.

Oh man I was expecting some gigantic 5 figure pot and you show me this?!

I like overbetting turn.

As played think I bet/f like 1/3rd pot a lot of the time (as I would do with a lot of my air) and check behind occasionally. Whatever the outcome it will be great for our image and the metagame

chuck out a pony will get called by worse sometimes and if he folds then we don't have to show our hand which will be worth a few bb's of EV in the long run in the game id imagine.

why dont we want him to see? im sure it will be perfectly reasonable for an aggro european kid to be opening 74o.

Playing terribly in small pots to gain the image to win the big pots is how I play poker.

Well, apart from the last bit

Seems very hard for us to have air for the guys that mentioned that. I think betting river probably better had we bet the flop. I mean value betting now can't be bad as it is live, i just don't think vs a tighter/decent opponent makes it the best spot to do so.

think i'd like to get a cheeky overbet on the turn. was pot around 30/35? i like betting huge here its a nice chance incl we should be getting free showdown v nearly everytime he calls.
checking river and showing is probably good v's a player who thinks a little anyways, and for me two options really on river checking or going half pot ~36. i think betting is not thin as it looks on the surface.
