Bet the flop imo, there are much better spots to check back 2nd/3rd pair hands if we think that we're going to be exploited with a huge cbet %age. Here we're looking at any non 4/5/6/7 is gunna be problematic and I don't think with given info we can justify call/calling too many runouts. Without a specific reason to do anything else I think you should be cbetting here.

As played I bet 25

I like overbetting turn.

Interesting idea, reasoning?

Interesting idea, reasoning?

I saw Isildur1 do it once.

But mainly because I like to rep that I'm trying to push villain off the pot with his incredibly capped range, with my range that shouldn't really have improved (showdown equity) that much from a range that checks the flop behind. We get cape'd a lot more in my experience.

I find these situations very difficult to describe in words, they are incredibly psychological situations. You obviously do lose immediate value a decent amount of the time, but not as much as you'd think. If one can correctly manipulate ones body language and utilise correct eye contact, you lose immediate value even less.

Also I totally feel like I'm teaching granny to suck eggs here lol

But hopefully I can maybe provoke some thoughts for the lesser experienced.

God that sounds patronising. I'll get me coat :p

I've got a few interesting ones for the group but it isn't worth posting in a strategy forum. Just thought this was a cool spot. I vb and he snap folded Sad

I don't mind checking the flop vs someone who has a bunch of high cards often, won't valuebet thinly and won't stab twice very often.

i think tbh the main reason we're thinking of over-betting the turn is because the pot is very small, not because it's a strategically good move.

Which btw, is absolutely fine.
