If you want to keep up with Grosnevor : - increase the buyin to the main events to 750 - Have 3 day main events with a 1a and a 1b. - Dont let the runners get out of hand, 200ish is fine. - Get creative with the side events, people get bored of the same old crap shoot 100 freezeouts. - Take a chance, have a round of each Holdem Omaha tournament. People are starting to play other games. - Do not clash with any other major festivals in Europe. - Advertise, keep reminding the players when qualifiers are and when the festivals are coming up.
If you take some of those points in mind im sure itl be a successful tournament year.

All depends on how much your willing to gamble. For these types of tournaments your going to need 3 rebuys minimum and for the first 45 mins at least your going to have to play any respectable hand. If you can limp with the hand then limp but if your sitting with J9 suited etc or any pair, get your chips in with the rest of them. The first pot you win should be a fairly big one. If you want to save rebuys I would sit tight and not get involved till everyone has calmed down, its not a bad thing to get an image of being a rock aswell. After the rebuy period has finished there should be plenty chips and you should be able to play your game (for a while anyway).

As someone who was one the guys in yellow hoodies and big earphones we were just taking the piss out of Pete Linton, a regular at the casino and the cash games we play.
It might be suprising but Gala Nottingham has become a gold mine for players like myself and there are some terrible players that are willing to blow hundreds and alot of gamblers that are good value.
As for our bankrolls, we are at uni but were far from regular students. A couple of our "team" have had some decent tournament wins that are the basis of our rolls. (Not 20/30 rebuys, more like 1000 freezeouts).

I dont know if that was joke, but I couldnt call to see a flop. This was for all my chips.
Also I put him on either AK JJ and maybe 1010. So I knew if I called I was ahead, but If he has AK then im in more or less a coin flip, and plus I really didnt want to bubble.

Right This happened to me when there were 13 players left in a 500 pound freezeout.
Top 10 paid, 11th 12th would have got there buyins back so really, next out is the worst position.
Guy Under the Gun raises all in for a stack of 130k (A Solid Player). Im sitting with 120lk with average sack around 110k.
Fold Fold and to me on the button, I look down at QQ.
Now I consider my options and after much thought I folded, but when I showed my hand most people thought I should have called.
The initial raiser showed his AK.
Should I have folded?
