Title: Re: DTD Main Event Grand Slam Day 2 Post by: taximan007 on May 28, 2009, 03:47:40 AM 03.45 just read through the updates, top stuff guys thank you.
Question? as i can only ever dream of playing this kind of tourney. 20K starting chips, and the clock is showing blinds at 250/500 and over HALF the field have been knocked out!!! is this the norm for this level of tournament? Seems strange to me but as i say i never play at this level. Title: Re: DTD Main Event Grand Slam Day 2 Post by: Dingdell on May 28, 2009, 03:53:51 AM One hand from last night that warrants a mention of only for the calmness of Mo afterwards......
Karl to my left reraises Mo and Mo flat calls. Flop comes Kh 8c 6d MO bets out, arl pushes all in Mo calls. Karl has Qs Qh MO has Aspades Kd As Mo tunrs over his hand Karl calls it and once the cards are over start berating himself for being so stupid, he is now out of the touney. Turn no help but the river is the Qd. Mo doesn't flinch, takes it in his stride, its a pain but he keeps smiling. Both of them are very gentlmanly about it all. And after loosing half his stack he still has over 100 big blinds.....lovely structure. The Barry (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=42) Neville (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=42)/Grace/Tasos/Gourlay/Glyn Rees table is ultra-aggressive. A short-stack on it, Mark (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=3008) Wilson (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=3008), remarked to me "each pot is 3-bet pre, and I keep getting caught in the cross-fire" On this table five players saw a 8c 4s 4h flop, checked to Jamie Moult. He bet 6,500 into a 4,000 pot. Seat 7 Rahim Sadaat put 1600 in the middle thinking that was the size of Moult's bet. When his error was pointed out to him, he complained long and hard about how the chip colourings were too similar, then complained a bit more for fun, then folded, forfeiting the 1600 chips. As everyone else then folded, Moult had a nice little bonus in the pot he won. This over-betting lark seems to be catching on. Rupinder (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1654) Bedi (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1654) found himself in a pot, in position, against the lethal Albert (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1251) Sapiano (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=1251) and the bleach blonde Sam Walters on a flop of 2-6-5 rainbow, raised pot, Rupinder bet 6,500 into the 5,000 pot and got that rare beast, a Sapiano pass, and a pot won Title: Re: DTD Main Event Grand Slam Day 2 Post by: TightEnd on May 28, 2009, 02:42:58 PM Right then, day 2's are always the worst for updaters. Tassos announces all in, Johnson says he cant call because of Gourlays reactions ... and passes Tassos has Qc Qd for the house ... But Gourlay was holding 2s 2h for rivered QUADS. TD ruled that Gourlay was out of order for showing his cards and reminded him that its one player to the hand. Tassos not happy because he feels Gourlays actions cost him a pay off with his hand ... Sunday Evening? Sunday afternoon? Saturday Evening? 72 left, and there has been no blind pressure at all to lose 125 players I think we'll hit a final on Saturday, certainly 6pm Sunday is way too late Title: Re: DTD Main Event Grand Slam Day 2 Post by: Colchester Kev on May 28, 2009, 04:51:15 PM Agree with Rich, get them here Saturday for 6pm and book a hotel if needed imo.

Is that a bit early? Should we arrive a little later? Or even earlier? Seriously, if it were your Call, & you had to send a Crew from London to Film the Final, when do you think the Final will be? Sunday Evening? Sunday afternoon? Saturday Evening? My rough guesttimate - 3,880,800 in play divide that by nine for the average FT stack =431,111. At the 2008 WSOP main event the avg stack for the final was 63 big blinds so 431,111/63 = 6843. So the final should be reached at either level 17 or 18. Currently on level 7 so there should be another 20 hours play before the final is reached. Looking at that perhaps DT (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/)D (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/) will take the decision to play down to nine on Friday and start the final at 2pm Saturday? Steady on Barry now, control those tilt instincts, get back on track. Don't think of that neighbour. Or Mad Turk's percentage. Or the car failing the MOT. Or those suits you've got to flog. Think of gambolling sheep, poppies in fields, Hillsborough on an August afternoon beating the blades, singing "Mustang Sally" on the karaoke, bouncing out a load of kids from the nightclub you are on the door of, writing your autobiography. Go on, Recover, and ship it. Title: Re: DTD Main Event Grand Slam Day 2 Post by: Colchester Kev on May 28, 2009, 06:13:21 PM 66 left .... still 3 x 2 hour levels to play
