IPWR - cycling race
«

IWPR is a 5500km cycle race from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific across Australia, 70 started and the Belgian Kristoff Allegaert who was leading has just been overtaken by the Brit Mike Hall. It has taken him 4400km and 12 days following a slow start but he is in the lead.
Just the 1000 km to go into Sydney for the winning line.
They are nuts.

The race has ended tragically on its 13th day, Kristoff was within 200k of Sydney with Mike just 100k behind that, when Mike was hit by a car and has died. The race has been cancelled.
RIP Mike.

Terribly sad. He was complaining of people driving too close a few days ago on twitter. RIP
