I think i am getting old ... I have reached the stage where I want films that make me think while watching them, and make me think after it has ended... I want to be challenged by a film, not wrapped up in a cosy hollywood blanket and blasted with CGI.

Kev, young people can have good taste too. I don't think it's necessarily an age thing.

Finally watched Transformers 2.
Whilst not raving quite as highly as Scottish Dave it wasn't as bad as some have said.
I knew what to expect and got exactly that. Loads of CGI, a few one liners and Megan Fox in skimpy clothes.
Perfect easy viewing and no wonder it made so much money.
I got given it for xmas, I enjoyed it a lot, but action films with loads of CGI are up my street anyway.

You are correct, I only speak for myself... It has taken me this long to realise that if I am paying good money to go to the cinema, I want to see something that will at least spark a bit of activity in the old brain department, and not just be something that I have forgotten about once I start the engine on the car for the drive home.
I think the "Cuddled and tucked in" type films will be far fewer on my 'must see at the cinema' list.

I'm probably a bit late with this as well. I'm a DVD man. I don't go to the cinema and I don't illegally download so I'm miles behind everyone else.
Changling.........
Started off absolutely crap. One of the most boring films I've ever seen.
Fortunately it got much better and I actually really enjoyed it.
Was it a true story? It had the look of one.
Based on a true story.
I think the film tried to leave it as "The boy could still be alive" when, if i remember rightly there was pretty much no chance that he was
I really enjoyed it too but your right it was a slow starter. If i was on my own watching it probably would have been close to switching it off.

I almost switched it off but instead I fired up a few sngs and left it on in the background. I realised towards the end that it might be good so watched it again.
Woulda switched it off if I hadn't played poker though. It really was that slow!!

Zombieland...twas ok, the Bill Murray part kind of stopped the film in its tracks...and did'nt fit at all...

Ok, tonight I watched
The Book Of Eli
Denzel Washington is a lone traveller in a post apocalypic world, carrying the last known copy of the Bible.
Its like Mad Max in the Thunderdome with Bikers and armoured cars.
But Gary Oldman plays the bad guy well, and controls a small town in the scrublands.
Now its like a Clint Eastwood movie, mysterious stranger arrives kicks butt and gets the girl.
Theres a few twists on the way to keep you watching,
and a few funny moments when in the heat of battle an old lady makes a pot of tea
Played by Miss Jones from "Rising Damp ", lol
Watch out for Malcolm Mc Dowell near the end.
8 out of Ten
