Tournament ReportOk so here's how yesterday went.
The whole thing started a little badly when i missed a connecting train by 7 seconds causing me to arrive at the casino about 15 minutes into the tournament.
Second beat of the day was when it was revealed the juice had been advertised wrongly, gg twenty quid.
My table however seemed friendly enough, plenty of familiar faces with the odd value spot.
Bar Jerome Bradpiece having position and playing every hand-and doing so rather well-it really did seem a good table to be on.
By the first break my stack was about 12k-from 10k-at 1-200+25 ante, so about average.
Hadn't had a pair bigger than 3's and bar finding ak once i'd just survived with the odd move and positional thievery.
I was most dismayed to find our table had been broken, mainly because i only recognised 2 people and new tendencies would have to be learnt.
I needn't have worried as a limp call fest was the order of the day and juicy looking would have been the understatement of the year.
4xng was commonplace with the odd person merging while unaware exactly what they were doing, range would be to do with eggs for these cod types.
Anyway my hole cards continue to disappoint and i almost jumped out of my seat when aj appeared and i took down the blinds, i swear my 2.25x raised a few eyebrows, is that even a raise may have been mentioned.
Then an AQ saga started. 665 ppl limped into my big blind and i looked down at
. Obv i bumped it up with only two callers from the original posse.
A rather dry 862 flop appeared unlikely to scare anybody who would limp call for 10% effective so i bet it anyway having to fold to the inevitable all in from a clear settage.
Now my stack looked rather dismal at just over 30 big blinds and the blinds about to go up.
Finding AQ again the very next hand with only the 433 limpers on this occasion i was really tempted to jam but i just felt it was too much to splurge.
So i raised the price of admittance again to something like 6x and amazingly only 1 leeeeeemper felt obliged to peel for 20% effective while short himself.
My opponent in this hand is a well known villain i've played before, he has never seen two cards he doesn't want to see a flop with so his range is atc.
Flop came A 10 10 and i checked so that he'd assume i'd missed and he dissapointedly checked behind.
Another ten peeled off on the turn so i bet to build and obv get stacks in for river if poss.
He insta jammed and altho i doubted i was ever winning i aint ever folding this shallow, and of course mostly we're chopping.
He proudly turned over his 107 off suit and it was gg wp sir.
Sorry for another failure, maybe i should take up the limp call option.
