Title: New Poker Books Post by: Nem on May 10, 2006, 02:43:32 PM I'm going on holiday in a few weeks and I would like to take with me a couple of new poker books. What are the best books what have come out so far this year? I have Kill Phil already, is Negraneu new book any good? Has Harrington brought out a 3rd installment yet?
All views welcomed. Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: TightEnd on May 10, 2006, 02:47:11 PM Harrington 3 is out in June

Not strategy (well not even poker really)... but if you haven't read it, then Amarillo Slim - In A World Of Fat People is a superb read.
Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: Josh on May 10, 2006, 03:10:26 PM You're going on holiday...take a sodding break from poker and read something else.
Such as one of the following: Dan Brown, any of Digital Fortress, Deception Point, Angels and Demons or The Da Vinci Code, all good. Michael Connelly- Lincoln Lawyer John Grisham- The Broker Kate Mosse- Labyrinth John Connolly- The Black Angel Raymond Khoury - The Last Templar Or Karin Slaughter-Faithless Can't remember any other books I've read recently Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: Nem on May 10, 2006, 03:15:24 PM Harrington 3 is out in June What date in June? I can't find a review anywhere? Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: thetank on May 10, 2006, 03:18:14 PM You're going on holiday...take a sodding break from poker and read something else. That was really good. I ordered it from amazon, but when it arrived they gave me " Sooty - Learn with Sooty - Start to read / Have fun with Numbers" by accident. I have still to watch it. Hopefully it will help me with working out pot odds.

I told them about it by email. They said keep it. I will give it to my cousin. Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: matt674 on May 10, 2006, 03:28:03 PM I read Martin Luther King's biography recently. Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: Sheriff Fatman on May 10, 2006, 03:32:52 PM Harrington 3 is out in June What date in June? I can't find a review anywhere? I'll ask Sheriff, he told me about it There are currently two books available to pre-order from 2+2's website for shipping in 'early June'. HOH3 is one of them, Sklansky & Miller's "No Limit Hold'em Theory and Practice" is the other. I expect both to be excellent and have them on pre-order as this is generally the quickest (albeit not necessarily the cheapest) way to get hold of them. I'm planning to put reviews up once I've read them. History of new 2+2 books shows that the shipping dates may slip a little so its hard to give an exact date at the moment, especially as we then have to wait for international mail to deliver them. Sheriff PS: I'm sure Tighty will ask me about this at some point! Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: TightEnd on May 10, 2006, 03:35:29 PM PS: I'm sure Tighty will ask me about this at some point! No need now, thanks Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: Sheriff Fatman on May 10, 2006, 03:40:40 PM The website shows HOH3 as shipping at the 'end of May'.
However, I'm sure they'll ship both together so I'll still have to wait for the other one to come out in early June. Sheriff Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: AndrewT on May 10, 2006, 04:01:59 PM According to a post from Mason Malmuth over at 2+2 on 27th April, both the Harrington and Sklansky books will be out on May 30th.
Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: thetank on May 10, 2006, 04:06:55 PM A new Sklansky book, now I'm getting wet.

Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: Nem on May 10, 2006, 04:57:32 PM According to a post from Mason Malmuth over at 2+2 on 27th April, both the Harrington and Sklansky books will be out on May 30th. Does anyone have the link so I can preorder them. I cant find the books for sale on the 2+2 website. You can post a link here or pm me . Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: TightEnd on May 10, 2006, 05:02:24 PM Posting the link here is fine Nem, after all its increasing sales for 2+2
In due course when the books are reviewed on here people will be able to buy via the Blonde/Amazon link available on the home page should they so wish Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: Sheriff Fatman on May 10, 2006, 05:26:16 PM I've PMed you already Nem but for anyone else who's interested the link is just the 2+2 home page - www.twoplustwo.com
Be prepared for expensive shipping rates (bulk buy is a way to bring them down per book) but they do accept payment via Neteller which is a good way to use up all those US$ you've been winning! Sheriff Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: Sheriff Fatman on May 10, 2006, 05:30:10 PM A new Sklansky book, now I'm getting wet. This is merely the beginning. Expected later this year are: Small Stakes No Limit Hold ’em: Winning Big With Expert Play by Matt Flynn, Sunny Mehta, and Ed Miller - This is a no-limit version of Ed's earlier book which is the undisputed best limit holdem text available. Winning High Stakes and Short Handed Hold ’em; Expert Limit Hold ’em for Serious Cash Game & Internet Players by Ray Zee and Dave Fromm - Probably likely to be a limit HE text but again should be good. The other names (apart from Miller and Zee who are existing 2+2 authors) are all well-respected 2+2 posters so I expect these books to be good. Sheriff Title: Re: New Poker Books Post by: Sark79 on May 11, 2006, 03:35:22 PM ONLINE ACE By Scott Fischman . Due out on June 13th. I know it will be too late for you Nemesis, but this book was mentioned awhile back, but at that stage had no release date for the UK.
