I'm going on holiday in a few weeks and I would like to take with me a couple of new poker books. What are the best books what have come out so far this year? I have Kill Phil already, is Negraneu new book any good? Has Harrington brought out a 3rd installment yet?

All views welcomed.

Harringtons third volume is just an excercise book full of examples as I understand it.

Not new... Not strategy (well not even poker really)... but if you haven't read it, then Amarillo Slim - In A World Of Fat People is a superb read.

You're going on holiday...take a sodding break from poker and read something else.
Such as one of the following:
Dan Brown, any of Digital Fortress, Deception Point, Angels and Demons or The Da Vinci Code, all good.
Michael Connelly- Lincoln Lawyer
John Grisham- The Broker
Kate Mosse- Labyrinth
John Connolly- The Black Angel
Raymond Khoury - The Last Templar
Or Karin Slaughter-Faithless

Can't remember any other books I've read recently

I read Martin Luther King's biography recently. That was really good. I ordered it from amazon, but when it arrived they gave me  " Sooty - Learn with Sooty - Start to read / Have fun with Numbers" by accident.  I have still to watch it. Hopefully it will help me with working out pot odds.

It wasn't send by accident. Amazon reckoned you were too innocent to receive adult books and put a childrens filter on your account

There are currently two books available to pre-order from 2+2's website for shipping in 'early June'.  HOH3 is one of them, Sklansky & Miller's "No Limit Hold'em Theory and Practice" is the other.  I expect both to be excellent and have them on pre-order as this is generally the quickest (albeit not necessarily the cheapest) way to get hold of them.  I'm planning to put reviews up once I've read them.

History of new 2+2 books shows that the shipping dates may slip a little so its hard to give an exact date at the moment, especially as we then have to wait for international mail to deliver them.

Sheriff

PS: I'm sure Tighty will ask me about this at some point!
