Title: Championship 06/07 Post by: Tinsel Town on July 02, 2006, 11:02:37 PM Hi all.
Looking to have a bet on the Championship again this year. Personally , I fancy Soton for a decent season. Burley is a great manager and they seem to be getting things right in the boardroom now. Does anyone else see any value in the odds below(skybet)? Td Th Birmingham 7/2 Leicester 16/1 Sheffield Wednesday 66/1 West Brom 5/1 Preston 16/1 Stoke 66/1 Sunderland 7/1 Coventry 20/1 Burnley 100/1 Leeds 10/1 Derby 33/1 Plymouth 100/1 Crystal Palace 11/1 Cardiff 33/1 QPR 200/1 Norwich 11/1 Ipswich 40/1 Barnsley 200/1 Southampton 12/1 Luton 40/1 Southend 250/1 Wolves 16/1 Hull 66/1 Colchester 250/1 Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: Jim-D on July 02, 2006, 11:04:29 PM Leeds @ 10/1 seems to be a good bet.
They have a very decent squad and if they can sustain there end of season form then should go well. Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: johnlarsson on July 02, 2006, 11:05:24 PM i see were ure coming from m8
i see value in derby at 33/1 for a each way bet Davies has done a great job at preston last few years Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: Colchester Kev on July 02, 2006, 11:06:35 PM Burnley @ 100/1 ..... sorry no valloooooooo, its just my fantasy :)

Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: Colchester Kev on July 02, 2006, 11:12:19 PM Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo only been there 3 times, once when my boy was in junior school and he got free tickets. once when my mate convinced me to go and i sgreed in a drunken moment, and the third time was when the played Burnley a few years ago... Burnley won 4-0 i think ?
I will be going once this coming season and that will be to see Burnley stuff them . they have the worst ground in the football league, it really is a dump. Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: johnlarsson on July 02, 2006, 11:14:29 PM i have a lot of family who life in colchester, ive been to a few games, ground is horrible.
my we cousin plays for the boys club/junior team whatever u wana call it Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: Colchester Kev on July 02, 2006, 11:20:42 PM they are suposed to be getting a new ground, but it has been going on for years.
their manager has knobbed off to Hull and they are almost certainties to go straight back down this season. find a price for that and LUMP ON :) Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: Nakor on July 02, 2006, 11:25:38 PM Derby is the value for me E/W great Price IMO.
Avoid Norwich like the plague - Fans down on the manager, aging squad with little sign of improvements and slimmed down numbers on last year. I may take the Sunderland price as well, changes afoot and change can be a good thing. Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: johnlarsson on July 02, 2006, 11:26:32 PM yip derby for me bet direct are offerng 50/1
6/4 colchester to go down Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: johnlarsson on July 02, 2006, 11:30:27 PM right ive got my bet on. Coral.
Derby e/w (1,2,3) 40/1 £3 e/w. Derby to get promotion 14/1 £5 Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: GlasgowBandit on July 02, 2006, 11:30:32 PM I also fancy Southampton strongly they started to get it together near the end of the season and Burley is a good manager and he has made some decent signings I reckon they will go up.
I also reckon Leeds have a great chance of going up. Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: Tinsel Town on July 02, 2006, 11:42:24 PM yip derby for me bet direct are offerng 50/1 6/4 colchester to go down Still fancy the saints but I agree with the Derby logic. I must say that the Championship is the most interesting league in Britain if not Europe. Very competitive and honest. Found myself last season watching more of these games than games from the premiership. Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: Lucky Sevens on July 03, 2006, 12:46:24 AM Can see Coventry having a good season. May be worth sticking a few quid on them.
Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: TightEnd on July 03, 2006, 01:10:01 AM all the relegated teams should be laid at those prices. WBA have the best chance of bouncing straight back to me if I had to pick one
Leicester are a great bet e/w at 16 or 20-1...great form second half of the year once Levein went, two good goalscorers up front and IMO have more chance than Derby (where the rebuilding is only just going to be beginning with no money available). Davies took 2 years to get Preston in shape for a challenge. This is a year too early for that Derby bet avoid palace without Johnson and Dowie, Norwich (old, crap), Ipswich (rebuilding, no money), Wolves (lost Lescott, he held that defence together) to go down, lump on Luton too. Newell will be off before long to a big job, the strike force is aging and there is no strength in depth. Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: Colchester Kev on July 03, 2006, 02:36:29 AM Colchester 6/4 to go down ? wow that is short, any better prices available ?

Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: Acidmouse on July 03, 2006, 09:29:09 AM Leeds @ 10/1 seems to be a good bet. They have a very decent squad and if they can sustain there end of season form then should go well. They got within 3 points of Sheff Utd then completly tailed off at the end of the season, drawing most games. There form was very poor going into the playoffs. Leeds are a poor team, with an aeverage manager imo I wouldnt bet on them. Reminds me of Serie A 5 years ago, you never knew who would win the league, it really was 1 of 7 teams! Fantastic viewing. I am a Palace fan but as Tighty says we are not starting in the best situation. However, we always have a solution, we lost Morrison were written off, then found Johnson. There is always a very good player waiting in the wings thanks to the excellent youth acadamey. Title: Re: Championship 06/07 Post by: Indestructable on July 03, 2006, 10:06:23 PM I heard that Sunderland have now been taken over. If there is some money going in to the club is this worth a punt?
