Post by: Ironside on August 18, 2005, 07:39:54 PM
i really dont like deleting threads that are critical of any site but i have had to delete a couple recently that have been critical of william hills support, not for the fact they were criticall but because of the way the threads became abusive

I have limited experience of their Support Team but when I mailed them, they were pretty quick, no problems.
IMHO, Full Tilts is superb, effiicient, friendly and speedy.
Ultimate Bet's is complete and utter garbage (i have literally just today closed my account with them it was so bad, two days to answer an email is not acceptable).
Party Poker are quick but, more haste less speed. It helps if they actually read the email before replying, that way the response will be relevant.

Unrelated to poker but it once took a company (US Robotics if you want to know) 6 months to reply to an email sent to their support. When it arrived it was a generic email that totally ignored what I had written. By the time the email arrived I had already got rid of the offending piece of kit, it just convinced me to never give them a second chance (nor let anyone i know/work for try them).

I find UB's customer "support" very frustrating. This is a shame as it was the first site I played on, but I rarely play there now, especially after their inability to respond to basic queries duriing their "Channel 5" promo.

Party's email support are sub par. I just wish they would read the email before replying!

PokerStars are top notch.

Will Hill. Not had many dealings with them. A bit slow but generally OK.

PS

The record goes to Pacific poker though. I sent 55 emails before getting a response. This was over a 14 day period ::)

not had much experience with online support and teh like, although i once found UB terrible with dealing with any issues, and i must say Ladbrokes phone support is awesome, very quick and to the point and its a free line too

For what its worth the customer support at ladbrokes, prima and VC are pretty good

Will Hills and Party i've found to be fairly quick to respond but not overly helpful.

The less said about Pacific the better.

Pacific seem to be trying to redress this. They responded to me within 24 hours (not including the generic response) then sent me a Customer Satisfaction Survey.

Of course I marked them lower than I really thought, got to keep these guys on their toes  ;)

I think the Ladbrokes' customer support is excellent. Everytime I've rung up there has always been someone available and all emails sent have been swiftly replied to. They are friendly, constructive and welcoming of your comments. Every email ends with an open invitation to get back in contact with any further problems.

So, with all the bad experiences people encounter with online poker and their customer service, I'd personally like to give Laddies the big thumbs up and encourage them to keep up the good work.

 :)

aye, i second the good support i've experienced from laddies.

Its a truism in consumer markets, that if you sell good products people will buy from you. But if you treat them well when something goes awry, then they will buy from you for life.

Wish more poker sites realised this....

RE: William Hill's customer service I was very disappointed that it took them 21 days take pay out my first withdrawal.

I understand that your first withdrawal can take that bit longer especially sizeable wins (mine was £8500) whilst they do all their security checks but 21 days is a joke. However what annoyed me most was that I was lied to on several occassions re: the status of my withdrawal, with WH customer service favourte line being "you will get your money in just a few days". They infact lost faxed documents that they requested from me and if I hadn't chased them my claim would have not be processed at all.

21 days is bad enough, to lie to a customer, unforgiveable.

Betfair's is shockingly bad, i never did get that reply...................
pacific i always found rather good, but the fact that you have to complain about disconnection on a daily basis makes them overall a NO NO.
No trouble elsewhere,
Ian

Party. Yuck! Useless customer support, scritp answers, no help. Spoke to them lots of times about a problem, didn't know answers, didn't care.

Betfair is the worse poker room full stop, followed very
 closely by william hill !

Both have diabolical customer service, both share the diabolical crypto software and both are best avoided at all costs, untill they actually start treating the players as customers and not just scumbags....Avoid at all costs.

Hi everyone...feel beter for that.

Hi Blackbeard, and a big welcome to blonde, we hope you become one of our regular posters.

An interesting first post. I don't like Asda's service, so I shop at Sainsbury's.

What site or sites are you using now?

I don't like Asda's service, but I still shop there because I like to smack myself on the arse and listen to my change rattle

hi
Mainly Corals/Eurobet , who have excellent customer service and the fastest payouts ever.

I will use will hills again, if they improve and make the software more stable , betfair never ever ever again after having to literally beg for a refund after a crashed tourney.

Corals as you know is aparty skin, not great but if you turn off the silly characters its not too bad at all...thing is its fast and you can get agame when you want, althought the mtts are crap because they dont share partys mtts for some reason?

I have always found Betfair's customer service to be excellent, but I contact them by telephone.

I have heard some people say that they were slow to respond to e-mails, but that is not my experience.

Welcome to blonde blackbeard.

Hi ,
I recently used william hill customer support as i was having problems changing my details,
they solved my problem very quickly and I was suitably impressed until I checked my phone bill and found I had been charged £18.50 for the call. :'(
My next problem came when I tried to withdraw £450 winnings and was told it would not be possible for 3 weeks. I wish it took them that long to take the cash out of my bank account.

Ok, while we are plugging/slagging off sites, are there any blondes playing the 'Sunday lunch' on Ladbrokes? 3:15pm, its one of the best online comps around IMHO, I think their customer service is great too

ps I had a problem with both W Hill and Betfair in the same week, I rang  their customer service and they were excelent

It really is an oddity, how some folks say "Hills/Betfair/Party/whoever" are crap", and others say the complete opposite.

I wonder if how you approach them is a factor in the equation? I mean, we can do "Oi, Mr Angry here, bla bla bla", or "Excuse me, I have a prob, can you help?".....

Not suggesting that IS the case, but it does mystify me why there is SUCH a divergence of opinion on these matters.

Kirk, - welcome to blonde. £18.50 - HOW MUCH? Where were you ringing from? How long was the call? Thats amazing, on the face of it. I am never off my moby, & the bill is abolut £70 per month!

Betfair treated me like a king at the WSOP. I set up a Will Hill account to play the Grand Prix sats, cashed in my first one, then realised that I'm playing in another tournament that clashes with the Grand Prix so withdrew the cash. It was back in my account in 2 days and it is the same with Betfair and eurobet. When I have had dissconnect probs at BF they have refunded my account but perhaps not emailed me to tell me. Can't remember it was a while ago.

Tikay, I have pretty much stopped using supermarkets after watching the Dispatches program a few weeks ago. Their meat is feed on nasty s*** that i don't want the kid to be eating and even the fruit has horrible stuff sprayed all over it. Local Butcher and Grocer have my business now, better food and they're cheaper!

If you missed the program perhaps someone could download it off the internet for you ;D ;D ;D

And there we have it in a nutshell. In the same thread....

"Wm Hill & Betfair are crap".

"Wm Hill & Betfair are excellent".

Bizarre, truly bizarre.

ul RED-DOG. I just saw your post about the comp. Went over there saw you were errrr not in. I don't think I would be in that sort of comp just yet but thanks for the heads up about it, are there any others on Laddies you recommend, perhaps a little less than $500?

The $500 is a bit steep but there are satallites running for it all week, same for the $300 'Whose the Daddy' 8pm Tuesdays

The satallites get around 30/40 runnere and make about 7/8 seats, I rarely have to buy in to one of these events, the satallites are quite easy if you remember your not trying to win outright (most dont)

They also have $250 freezeout at 2:15 pm every day that only makes 30/50 runners

The £100 rebuy fest is sheer madness but makes a ton of money, it is playable but IMHO you have to take a rebuy straght away and then play like an absolute rock until you get a prpoer hand, then move all in, you will get several callers, if your hand stands up, go to sleep untill the end of the rebuys, if it dosnt, dont re buy

There is a $100 freezeout at 6pm with a 15 minute clock and not too many runners, and a $75 at 12:30 am

And no, I have no connection with Ladbrokes and I dont get any kickbacks

PMSL

Right, back to topic.  Tikay mentioned Mr Angry vs Mr Please Help early on in the topic.

I for one will not go out of my way at work to help any Mr Angry, at the end of the day the person on the other end of the phone wants something off me, and getting narccy/shirty with me is just going to make me as awkward as possible.  I've lost count of the amount of times someone has demanded something from the office, and I have taken as long as possible to action the request.  The same goes for people who come to the counter too.

On the other hand, if I have someone at the other end of the phone who is polite and grateful for my help, I'll give them all the time in the world, and don't end the call until I am 100% sure they are happy!   (It doesn't happen often tho!  lol)

And b4 any of you start with the smutty comments, (lol)  I work in an academic department at a University!  lol  (Not a call girl)
