Title: Re: Bad Beat Post by: Rookie (Rodney) on August 17, 2006, 09:20:28 PM Uh oh - nobody likes a bad beat story mate - this is a Hand Analysis Board, just put 50p in the tin and edit this thread! :D
Title: Re: Bad Beat Post by: thetank on August 17, 2006, 09:20:54 PM The good news is, you don't have to pay 50p.
Coz that's not a bad beat. ;scarymoment; Title: Re: Bad Beat Post by: mikkyT on August 17, 2006, 09:34:53 PM The tank bank is right once again
Title: Re: Bad Beat Post by: matt674 on August 17, 2006, 09:48:21 PM Yup - when all the chips go in your chances of winning the pot are 37.1%
This happens to be one of the 62.9 in 100 times that you lose - doesn't really matter in what circumstances or how bad it looks, its immaterial what order the cards come out in - if the 4 clubs come first with the Kh on the river the result is still the same but you feel less aggrieved that you have been on the end of a bad beat. Just one of those things - but definitely not a bad beat. You cannot rework the percentages as no further betting action will take place on any of the other streets. If you flat call preflop and then all the money goes in on the flop then you are getting your money in as a favourite but even then you will lose once in every four hands as you will only be approx 75% to win with two cards to come so it is still debatable as to whether it is a bad beat. The longer you play then you will encounter many more beats worse than this!! ;) Title: Re: Bad Beat Post by: snoopy1239 on August 18, 2006, 05:44:47 PM but after the king hits im a massive favourite. i dont know oi guess if i had pocket kings it would have been worse but still one of the worst bad beats ive ever had If that's one of the worst beats you've ever had then you need to brace yourself for some darker times ahead. You need to forget about this hand and put it the back of your head rather than posting it on here. If you do that it won't affect you as much and you'll be able to carry on playing without being concerned with the constant beats that poker brings. Should have won it with a 4 to 1 chip lead heads up - but his strategy of all in every hand proved difficult to crack and he outdrew me to win. Ho hum :) Title: Re: Bad Beat Post by: matt674 on August 20, 2006, 10:51:00 AM Now i'll put a quid in the tin - i didnt have change for just the one..................
Unfortunately bad beats are the downside of putting your money in with the best hand constantly - but then at the end of the day thats what i want, if i can constantly get my money in with the best hand then law of averages says i will win more than i lose which in the long run should mean more profit!! :) Embrace the bad beats and learn to carry on playing your a-game when they happen.
